An 11 yr old ridin a motorized scooter apparently lost control of the device and collided into the side of my vehicle. A police report was made and he was taken to the hospital as procedure, he had a scraped knee. I observed him across a stop sign and stopped completely. Then when I proceeded cautiously....out of nowhere he obviously ran into the car. Another motorist witnessed what happened and agreed with my argument which stated "he ran into the car." I would like to further this case but I'm not sure if I have a chance. I am well aware that motorized scooters should not be operated on streets, highways, parking lots and sidewalks. My car sustained a minor dent above the front left wheel and I would like to be compensated for the damage and the stress I'm currently undergoing.

I would have a heart but his guardians initiated the outcome acting as if I was at fault. Of course kids do irrational things, I was observing him but unfortunately I cannot keep my eyes on him the whole time while driving. Am I expected to stop and allow him to wrecklessly use a public street for his amusement while I have places to go?

Just call police each time you see a non licenced motorized thing being operated a couple of tickets and the parents will sell that minibike. AS FOR YOUR STRESS!!! get over it !!!. Stated below court costs or just pay to fix the dent.

You may be compensated for the damage on your car, but probably not for the stress. You will need to contact the child's parents. If they are uncooperative, contact a lawyer, pay his $500 retainer fee to get the $200 dent fixed
