An 11 yr old ridin a motorized scooter apparently lost control of the device and collided into the side of my vehicle. A police report was made and he was taken to the hospital as procedure, he had a scraped knee. I observed him across a stop sign and stopped completely. Then when I proceeded cautiously....out of nowhere he obviously ran into the car. Another motorist witnessed what happened and agreed with my argument which stated "he ran into the car." I would like to further this case but I'm not sure if I have a chance. I am well aware that motorized scooters should not be operated on streets, highways, parking lots and sidewalks. My car sustained a minor dent above the front left wheel and I would like to be compensated for the damage and the stress I'm currently undergoing.

I would have a heart but his guardians initiated the outcome acting as if I was at fault. Of course kids do irrational things, I was observing him but unfortunately I cannot keep my eyes on him the whole time while driving. Am I expected to stop and allow him to wrecklessly use a public street for his amusement while I have places to go?
