I live in a residential area in northern Delaware. 98% of the people I see drive by my house are driving a lot faster then the 15 M.P.H. speed limit posted. Why do people drive these days showing no concern for law, and the possible accidents due to attitude?

Same happens in my neighborhood. There is a main street going between 2 parts of our neighborhood. The posted limit is 35 and many people go 40, 45 or above. They don't live here, but I do. And my neighbor's kids ride their bikes here and people take walks. People have no respect for other people's property sometimes. I know this isn't "my" neighborhood but it belongs to me and my neighbors. Now the police have posted officers on the road in hidden locations but whenever they are around, everyone drives slow - go figure. And the rest of the time, everyone is a speed demon and I wish that a cop would be there to teach these people a lesson. People also think that there are less cops in residential areas than on main thoroughfares.

I believe it's all in the lack of respect for others especially potential children who could be playing in the area. On my street the speed limit is 10 mph. It seems like the only people who drive the speed limit here are the ones who live here.

Because they have no respec to the traffic laws or people. When there is a slow children at play sign I slow right down, whether I see a child or not, bad things can happen in a blink of an eye.

want to slow them down!? sit in the front yard with a 12 pack and some buddies, as they come speeding down the road, throw rocks and beer bottles at them..... they will think about it next time they come around. ( Paint balls work too)... have fun.

call the community police and ask them to place radar up on you highway on a everyday foundation, yet be careful, this form of component has a tendency to capture the people who stay there greater so than those purely passing by way of.

Nobody ever reports the speeders. Did you know that you have the right to take down their license plate number and report the violator. Try it somtimes.
