is it against the law for a five year old to sit in the front seat of a car even with a booster seat, i thought they had to be 14 years old.

At first I did everything wrong... I stopped in the middle of the street to let someone in who didn't have the right away on one of the busiest streets in my town. I was constantly almost hitting the curb and I just kinda felt completely clueless about what was going on. It was only a 30 minute session, and towards the end I started doing a little better and actually got the hang of it but there was one thing that I didn't really get the hang of.. turning. Is it normal to absolutely suck at turning your first time driving? I seriously could not grasp the concept of spinning the wheel and overlapping your hands. He didn't let me practice on little turns first he kept on putting me in the really busy intersections and since I kept on turning wrong, he kept on screaming at me and grabbing the wheel. Any tips on turning? Is it normal to be terrible at turning your first time driving? I'm totally nervous about driving again in a few days, will I get the hang of turning soon?

I've seen some very good comments on this problem but tire pressures are totally ignored. On hot summer days, for example, recommended pressures of 35 lbs for all tires should be more like 40 lbs. The recommended pressures on your driver's side door frame are only the minimum you need for safe operation but they don't say that for legal reasons. So if you run with badly underinflated tires, and experience a rollover, it's your own fault. Women are especially slack in regard to checking their tire pressures.

I had an orthodontist appointment this morning to get my braces off after 3 years and it got delayed yet again... I had the 2nd flat tire on my Jaguar in 2 months. My mom got the Jaguar from her ex-husband in a settlement case and she gave it to me because she was followed and harassed every time they saw each other on the road. Two months ago I got a flat giving my girlfriend a ride home, and I changed it and put in the spare. Two months later today, I got another flat on the SAME tire, the back right. I decided to look at each one closely... I took out the old flat, I took out the new flat, and they both had nails deeply embedded in them. I don't drive in or near construction sites, and even when I lived near them a year ago, I never had this happen, I moved and now I don't live near any construction sites. Is someone planting them or is this just severe bad luck? What's your opinion? They're 250 dollars each, I need to figure out how it's happening.

the rv has a label that says gvwr 5900#. not sure what that means and my truck is rated for 4000# max trailer weight and 5300# gvw rating? the label subtracts what i think is a cargo weight to come up with the number 3435# empty weight.

What is that reddish-orange stuff you sometimes see that looks like it's been spilt on the freeway? My mother thinks it's blood, but I think it must be paint or something used to clean up accidents. I've asked the local California Highway Patrol and every similar org I can think of.

I hate it when these idiot morons are driving like they're on a race track, or in a video game, they race back and forth, endangering everyone, and when you get to the next traffic light the idiot's are there, right next to you!

I mean where will it end? I don't know HOW many big rig accidents in the past month since they have started letting the Mexican Truckers here into the US.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071014/ap_on_re_us/truck_pileup

I am using facts when I say Mexican trucks aren't safe. Not only that, but it doesn't matter if the trucks are or aren't safe, if the person behind the wheel can't drive well and can't read English.

Notice that the nationality of all of these "Accidents" aren't released in the article.

No, I am not saying that American Truckers can't be in accidents, but USUALLY they get in accidents when the weather is bad or some unforeseen reason causes them to get into an accident...not just running off of the road or going off of a bridge like happened a couple weeks ago. Word to note that all these accidents happened in Arizona, California, Florida and Texas.

I'm totally stressing guys! I'm scheduled to take my drive test on October 16th at 3 PM. What can I do to stop stressing? I'm already shaking. I know I can pretend like the instructor isn't there... But I'll still be nervous. Can someone tell me something, so I won't be so nervous? Is passing the Nevada driver's test hard? And when changing lanes.. I signal, look back for a second, wait for an opening, and change lanes. Right? I'm still scared about changing lanes. I don't know why I'm stressing this much! Last, what are some common mistakes that are made during a drive test? I want to know so I don't make them.
I hope I get on the examiner's good side. I'll make sure to properly greet them. And make sure to ask how they are doing etc. Ugh! I'm so scared. HELP!!!

re: programs like police camera action etc-wouldn`t it be safer-less loss of life-less damage -if they radiod to a helicopter to track vehicle-till it ran out of fuel.

Once I was sitting in my car and waiting for someone in a parking lot. A guy pulls up next to my car, opens his door and hits and dents my car on the passenger side (he did not see I was inside my car so I guess he felt free to be reckless or something!). When he did finally notice me he went back into his car as though I hadn't heard the loud noise and as though I were dumb! What would you have done?
I would like to buy a newer car but, actually, my current car has had quite a few similar, bad experiences in parking lots. Are there only idiots out there? Do you have any suggestions? Would police show up for something this "minor"?

I get so nervous driving I sometimes think I should give up, I am a very anxious person and have always been, and I know driving and nervousness do not go along.Today I totally screwed up, I used the left turnlight while turning right, I am devastated, thank god the person behind me didn't get pissed, bless their heart. I wonder if others drove badly as me when learning to drive.
