How is hanging a sign from your rear-view mirror going to "save" anyone? All the junk people hang from their rear-view mirrors is not only a safety hazard, it is probably also illegal. If you want to "save the children", buy a bumper sticker. It'll look really good right next to the stupid yellow ribbon decal that's stuck on the back of your car, and everyone will know that you "really care".
Or better yet, go volunteer your time at an orphanage, a homeless shelter or a hospital nursery.

It is usually illegal to have things hanging from the rear view mirror. It is one of thoses laws that are seldom enforced but can get you stopped if the cops need a reason.

Anything hanging from your mirror while driving can be a distraction, and it also creates a blind spot.

most states have it illegal to actually hang things from your rear view mirror. and how could anyone read it besides your passengers
