a double yellow signifies a no-passing zone. thru traffic cant pass whenever they want. this doesnt include turning into or out of driveways either residential or commercial. u are ok to turn left over a double yellow. u are not allowed to just zip around a car going the same direction u are in a double yellow line area.

Yes you can exit a driveway and turn left over any lines that are on the road. All double yellow lines mean is that you can't pass another car in front of you legally.

You certainly cannot cross double lines for any reason. The only way you can enter the driveway/entrance on a road with double lines from the other direction of traffic is if there is a break in the double lines opposite the driveway/entrance. It is an offence to cross double lines.

In California, yes you can. The double yellow line simply prohibits a driver from passing another vehicle by crossing over the line.

A double, DOUBLE yellow line is another thing. A driver should consider this as if it were a wall, dividing one side of the roadway from the other.

You can cross just about whatever line you need to in order to enter the traffic pattern. Only once you are in and following that traffic pattern do you need to heed the solid lines; these lines prohibit changing lanes or passing. For instance: you know how the last few car-lengths before a stoplight, where the line between the lanes becomes solid? You can't change lanes there.

Yes.

You cannot cross DOUBLE DOUBLE Yellow Lines. You must treat them as if there was a physical barrier there.

I would but I back out and you can back into the lane you are entering. On a four lane street I might not.
