and that dog didn't have a leash, is that guy the liable one if the dog jumped out into traffic and caused a traffic accident?

Or if you hit the dog and it made a dent in your car can you make the guy pay to fix the dent?

Okay, So I got my first speeding ticket, if I go to court and the cop doesn't show up thus resulting in me not having to pay the ticket, will it go on my insurance record? Of course, Im trying to avoid the folks finding out. My insurance was recently renewed in November. Will it increase before my six months is up? If the munciple doesnt show up and I ultimately dont have to pay it will they ever find out?

When I smoked, I found it to be a distraction from driving, but when stuck in traffic, smoking made the driving more enjoyable.

Does it bother you when people don't use their turn signal when they move back into the right lane after passing you on the expressway? It bothers me quite a bit. Don't know why but it just does.

Ok, so I was a three way intersection. I had a stop sign and I stopped, looked, did all that good stuff, when I went to pull out to turn left onto the road ( i was going kinda slow because I didn't know the area at all) a truck came around a turn and rear ended me. I didn't even see him! So, my car is a POS anyway and I've already been in an accident in the rear end in it and his truck had minimal damage (like a scratch and a ding) so we decided not to get the insurance involved but we exchanged info anyway.
So was it my fault for pulling out?

Is there a hotline or something for every state? It seems like every time I go out on the road there is some a**hole driving recklessly and seems willing to cause an accident because they're in a hurry to go nowhere...

Not only is the glass carried on the outside of the van, but it's also beyond the normal profile of the vehicle. You wonder why they are allowed to do this. What d'you reckon?

I'm FINALLY going for my license in a few weeks, after having my Learners' Permit for FOUR years... Does anyone have pointers on how to relax a little? Another problem I need to work out before I go for the test is:

How do I determine how close I am to the gutter (kerb, for you pedants) without actually hitting the damn thing? The only chance I get to practise my parking is when I go with my driving instructor ever couple of weeks. My mum's a terrible parker, so she can't teach me, and my dad's ineligible to take me on drives.

Would the car be completely destroyed on impact; or would it suffer minor cosmetic damage- and could be driven away.

I leased a 2007 Lincoln MKZ two days ago. I parked the car in my driveway which had a SMALL THIN amount of ice on ONE side of it only... The other side of the driveway was dry as a bone. When I woke up the car had rolled on its own to the bottom of the driveway into my van. If my van wasn't there it would have ended up in the street! There is a small dent but my main concern is the dealership cannot find anything wrong with it. I'm so afraid that it will happen again and someone will get hurt. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? It is a 43,000 dollar car and the dealership thinks I'm insane but I don't want to be stuck with a 3 year lease that is going to end up hurting someone!!! If I only had an idea of what could cause something like this they would check it out. Could it be a computer or GPS issue? My emergency brake was not on the first time but i put it on and it happened again. Please help!

If you inadvertently backed up into metal post(about 3 feet tall) and sustained damge to your vehicle, how can you save money on repairs? I've got some ridiculous quotes(around $800) which I feel are a bit much. It involves pulling out the dent and spraying an area roughly 18in by 15 in....Will buying my own paint help? Any ideas would be appreciated thanks..

Hiya everyone! =D

Well, this is just a senario:

Car A is going 50-55 (speed limit: 45), but suddenly, Car A brakes really REALLY hard. Car B is behind Car A, there is about half a bus' length between the cars before the sudden brake.

What if there was a collision? Who's fault would it be? XD

(Also, what is the official length between cars in law?)

If you find yourself stuck in a snow storm inside your car and it has a full tank of gas, is it more resourceful to keep your car running the entire time until you run completely out of gas or start the car until your warm, turn it off until you lose heat, then start the car again until your warm, turn it off until you lose heat, continuously until you run out of gas?
