I would like to see every learner driver be made to have at least 6 lessons from a professional instructor before taking a test, and if they fail another 6 before the next test. Would that improve the general standard of driving and help to eliminate the passing on of other driver's bad habits?

I have new wheels on my car and I would like to make sure that there's not going to be any problems because of a whrong offset. What could be possible consequences of incorrect offset? What is a way to find out if the offest is incorrect. Presently the only difference is that the steering wheel tends to pull a little to the right sometimes. Is that indicative of a potensionally serious problem that could result?

You know who I mean.. the (usually ancient) drivers that totally refuse to drive over 35-40 mph even on a safe wide, main road.
They are totally oblivious to the mile-long 'snake' of tailbacked traffic that forms behind them. They are the ones that will stick behind a tractor doing 20mph rather than overtake, causing others to overtake more than one vehicle to get past(OK if you've got a Porsche or Subaru but more dangerous for slower vehicles).
If anyone does overtake them they don't like it and flash their lights.
The 35-40 speed is even adhered to even through a 30mph limit.
Am I the only one that these 'accident causers' gets on their nerves?

It seems that their are to many poor drivers who believe that it is their right to drive. I think that the following may help. The driving test should be more difficult and time consuming. A course pass in anger management should be achieved. Drivers should be re-tested maybe every five years. Drivers should take and pass an advanced test within a period of time. They must pass a minimum reaction test to gauge speed of response. Motorway and skid control use should be part of it. Basic vehicle safety checks and light maintenance could be incorporated.
Think, less road rage caused by idiots who are unsafe. Less pollution and congestion. Accidents would be reduced. Traffic would flow easier. Make part of the test application include a visit to show the results of careless or inconsiderate driving. This could be either morgues, hospitals or a specialist centre showing or talking to victims. The use of your own car should be a priviledge not a right.

After all Jerermy Clarkson hasn't got a speeding ticket and I'm sure he is not always below the limit.

I think you deserve a ticket for driving without due care and attention.

You hear about it in the news, always the same general story. Elderly man plows through school, killing one child, injuring others... on his way to a driving exam. Elderly man plows through farmers market. You see the video of an elderly woman who plows through a Sears at 40mph.

So... I know its hard to give up the keys and say, I can't drive, but for others they'll drive until the day they die goshdarnit. Young drivers also are a threat on the road, but only experience will teach them the right way. The elderly are pretty scary. They can't see well, can't hear well, and are always driving incredibly slow or incredibly stupid.

How do we ensure that the elderly are driving safely and not being a threat? They're old, calling them a threat is harsh, but I myself have been rearended from a complete stop by an elderly man who somehow did not see my fat Taurus stopped for traffic. How do we get the elderly to put down the keys, make sure they're mentally fit to drive?

Is it asking too much of people to clean the snow and ice from their cars ?????

I dont know how many times i had to dodge sheets of ice flying off the top of peoples cars...

It cost too much money to fix a windshield damaged because some one was too lazy to clear ice from their cars.

Stop being lazy !!!

Why don't airports de-ice planes right before take off (at the end of the runway).

Have a large setup at the end of the taxiway where each plane gets de-iced second before they get on the runway for departure?
