I'm in-between- cars right now, and I don't hitchhike ( I most of the time have to walk for hours to places that would only take minutes by car) but there have been a few nice people that have stopped and gave a ride. Man, was I thankful. It does'nt happen very often though. If a person is hitchhiking you have to ask yourself if the opportunity to be nice is safe. In my experience, a person hitchhiking usually is something soliciting or an opportunist of sorts. I guess it just depends on when and where you are when you see someone potentially needing a ride. My first instinct is to practice random acts of kindness whenever possible. I know my situation and when I do get off my feet and back into a car; I'm gonna look out for as many people as I can realizing what I'm going thru. Thanks for being you. ( Take Care -- Shonuff)

the total answer is no like in the children saftey videos if you dont know that person you should either say no loud or just plain drive stragit on and act like you didnt see or hear them...children saftey is just the same as child safety your just older and more mature...even tough it might seem like the right think to do..you never know if its a scam or just a ciminal trying to get away with your car! i know its hard to see people so desprate...and im not mean if this world wasnt the way it was today i would give them a lift but for safety reasons i just cant...so just a tip if you do feel bad for them just say sorry i cant...i dont pick up people i never met before sorry about that...or something like that...you never know somebody else might come and pick them up...its a small world afterall!

I used to hitchhike everywhere. Then while i began using, i might p.c.. up human beings desiring rides. Now, I infrequently do, till te individual is in like a artwork uniform, and that i understand there is that distinctive employer up forward. i don't experience risk-free, in any different case.

Do not. Ever. They might seem like people needing just a lift, but you don't know what they might do right when they jump in the car. I wouldn't even get the idea of picking up any strangers.

Anybody that can hitch hike can get a job, anybody than has a job can negotiate some form of transport. these people are the ones that you and I are already paying for with our tax money. we have already given them enough. They are takers, not givers. If they are just in between cars right now they will just have to rely on friends and suck it up and walk, heck it's good for you.

wanting to be a pillar to your community is leader character but before you participate in extra curricular activity think about the risk and your well being and also the people you love put them in your shoes and ask yourself would i want my mother picking a stranger up or my sister or daughter. so my opinion is no do not pick the up.

If you want to then yes, if not then no. People somtimes just say not to because the person might be dangerous or somthing like that.
