I had a quick question about driving:
I often drive in neutral when going down hills to save petrol, I overheard someone saying that rather than putting the car in neutral they held the clutch down - this has the same effect because it disconnects the gears from the engine (something like that), but does it damage the clutch? Is there anything bad about keeping your clutch all the way down aside from lack of engine braking?

I need to drive from Santa Fe, NM to Seattle. I will be driving either a 96VW Beetle, or a 96 Dodge Dakota Quad cab. Both vehicles are in excellent mechanical condition.

Going to pick up my son for the summer.

People, I know that both men and women drive SUVs. Personally I don't like them that much unless you really need it for practicality. They are pretty expensive when it comes to fuel costs as they usually get pretty low miles per gallon. But why do so many women love those 2-ton monsters?

Is there any way to tint my car windows without making it look darker inside the car? I had to ask. I want the shade from the summer sun but I don't want it to be too dark at night inside the car.

Don't say get a light tint - I know that much.

Thanks!

I already did all the behind-the-wheel stuff.
Now, I have to take the road signs test and the twenty questions test (where you can't get over five incorrect).

I'm going to the DMV tomorrow so any words of advice would be appreciated.
Wish me luck...

I'm talking about most modern cars that display fuel range based on the amount of gas in the tank.

What are the advantages of using Supreme gasoline? I understand that the octane rating is different but how is that a plus? What does it affect?

Also, does it matter if the two are mixed? If you think about it logically, gas stations that have one hose for the 3 different types the person before you most likely filled with regular and when you first start pumping your getting the left over regular is the hose regardless of what gas you choose.

well not like the guy you saw on the news chased by cops. I remember hearing that its legal to drive a tank on public road if you get a permet and have rubber tracks. I don't know if that was in the USA or in England but I do recall watching a guy on tv drive a tank in England to work. If so you can buy a tank from russia (t-34) for about 10,000 bucks. Just the same price for a used car. hmmm. No one would dare try to cut you off. So does anyone know if this is legal???? Oh if your intrested in the russian tank here is the site : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/01/21/warms21.xml&sSheet=/news/2005/01/21/ixworld.html

BTW: I would not drive a tank if it was legal or not, but just wonderig if the rumor is true.
