Is there any way to tint my car windows without making it look darker inside the car? I had to ask. I want the shade from the summer sun but I don't want it to be too dark at night inside the car.

Don't say get a light tint - I know that much.

Thanks!

It seems like a contrdiction of terms here. Tint, bit don't get darker? Could you possibly be looking for a windshield tint that you see on the upper part of the windshield on most cars? Either that or a sun shade like they used to use on cars a long time ago. It's like a little awning, that is attached to the roof and overhangs the windshield? That is about the only way to keep the sun out while not tinting the glass that I know of. good luck, hope you find what you are looking for.

Before you do that, you need to tell me do you have digital radio..because believe it or not you can cause interference with the reception with adding any type of tint. Just making sure I have all the facts before answering. I know that sounds crazy but check the owners manual anyone out there..before you laugh.
Yes you can get lighter tint so that its not too dark. Check out the site I provided, it even has the different levels of tint to the laws for where you live. Hope this helps.

It really is determined on the type of tint you buy, if you get cheap window tinting, then most likely its gonna be dark on both sides of the window no matter what. But if you get a more expensive type, then it will seem like its pitch black on the outside, but when your on the inside it still remains bright as day. So if im correct with what your asking, buy a more expensive brand, and not a wal-mart special.

In fact the answer is YES!

Newer technology that uses nano-ceramics allows window films to let light in but not the associated heat. These 21st century technology films that factor out broad spectrums of the InfraRed wavelength are typically priced 25% higher than the metal , hybrid metal plus dyes, and the bottom of the barrell dyed films ( turn purple!)

Biased here (Tampa) at Advanced http://www.advancedfilmfl.com ; but FormulaOne Window Films have a full line of these high visibility high heat rejecting films. For a complete listing of the best window film dealers in your town check, http://www.formulaone.com
These lighter films meet most state tint laws and statutes. For a current list check , http://www.iwfa.com

Films that get darker when the sun is brightest; IE Smart Films are not commercially available. .yet!!

No, Tinting is tinting . Any color tints will obscure the light coming into your car. The darker the tint the less light. So youve answered your own quiestion. Get light tints.

See if there is such a thing as self-darkening tinted windows.
