If you don't have the time or resource to sell it on your own it's a great alternative.

You're receiving wholesale market value for your vehicle, under CarMax's standards so if it meets your needs go for it!

They're the largest retailer for used cars, so I'd say you can trust them.

Not a bad choice if you need to sell it quick. Another idea may be to put a for sale sign in the window of the car and your phone number. Give that a try for a week or two, you never know, and while i think about it, try and have the car clean when you're driving it so it gets people's attention.
You may be able to get more than wholesale book on it. It's worth the time and trouble, unless the money doesn't matter to you. good luck

yes you can sell your car to carmax and probably get a good price for it whosale.. they will pay an amount equal to its quality as compared to what the Kelly Blue book says it is worth.. they will deduct for high mileage, worn tires, and dents and scratches as well as for its running condition.. you can sell it for more money if you had the time to sell it retail.. by retailing it you would need to run an ad about 35.00 in your local news paper or auto trader.. it will take some time but you will get more for it.. NOW this is very important.. before you sell it to anyone.. remember no one wants to buy a dirty car.. take it somewhere and have it detailed... make sure it is clean and shiney.. it will bring you a couple hundred dollars more if it is detailed.. if you decide to retail it.. do a search for how to determine the value of your car.. you will find it.. or simply ask your banker what the loan value is.. or go to a book store and buy the NADA retail consumers guide book.. about 15.00 bucks.. look you car up and see what the values are.. it will have ratings such as high, mid and low values depending on how your car compares.. it is very easy to understand.. and if you buy the book.. make this note.. that particular book is very generious as compaired to the Kelly book and the black book.. it is probably about 10 to 20 percent higher than what the others suggest it is worth.. you can do this and do it well.. just remember to be sure it is CLEAN.. good luck

I hear they pay good money for cars. But why dont' you check around and see what others say. Go to a local machanic and ask them they would give you an idea of the worth of your car. But if you buy a car at car max make sure you get the extra warrenty. Glad I did. My car was back there 32 times in one year. By time I was done I had almost a new car and didn't have to pay for it. No extra warrenty and I would of been paying for a car I couldn't drive. Afterwards I checked my vin with car fax and found out it had been in a flood in alabama. Good luck to you

In my experience, KBB constantly over-estimates the fee of the motor vehicle. I incredibly have priced greater effective than 50 autos on KBB and not on a similar time as quickly as the KBB fee grew to become into at or above the fee that the motor vehicle grew to become into at last bought. Carmax provides you with a cost this is frequently extremely above what you may get from advertising the motor vehicle to a classic broking and decrease than what you may sell to a private occasion. whilst in comparison with KBB, the Carmax fee could be extremely decrease than the KBB commerce-in fee. the coolest thing about Carmax is that the estimate is unfastened! you basically flow there and practice them the motor vehicle and that they make you an supply this is valid for 2-4 weeks. Even greater suitable may well be to attempt to discover a private occasion purchaser. this is the main money you may get for a motor vehicle. attempt Craigslist or ebay.

They are gonna screw you. They offer the very least amount "bottom line wholesale". If you can wait awhile put it in AutoTrader or on eBay. You'll make 2 times what they will give you if it's in decent shape.
