Recently I had to pull over to the side of a road because I was lost. When I pulled over I put my car in park and applied the brake. When I shifted to drive (I have automatic transmission), I forgot the brake was still on and went a few feet before taking it off. I was only going less than 25 mph at the time.

The only thing I noticed was that the car was going much slower than normal. I've heard that leaving the brake on screws up or destroys my transmission but I would like to clear this up for certain.

Thanks!

I'm not talking about idiots that take Civics and put stupid accesories, loud exhaust on them that makes the car ugly and slows down the car....I'm talking about the guys that do it RIGHT, like adding nice accessories and actually making their car faster.

So what's your opinion on people who drive around modified cars?

I usually notice at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto that it has it's own ambulance station and ambulance car wash in the back when you go into Sunnybrook Park. Why is that and how are the ambulances serviced.

I hate to generalize, but for the sake of this discussion, let's hear people's generalizations...I am interested in how people view those who drive hybrids (e.g. Honda Civic Hybrid, Toyota Prius).

How would you "stereotype" the average Hybrid driver?

As my car doesn't have a Rev meter, how do I know when to change gear apart from 'feeling' or 'listening' to the engine sound? I heard that monitoring the speed will be a good guide but which range is for which gear? My speedometer is in Km/hr.

In general how much more is it to fix an Acura? Hondas and Acuras are very similar so I was wondering if it is substantially more to fix a honda. Say the brakes go out or the alternator am I looking at a much bigger bill with the TL over the Accord?

I bought a car from a dealership contingent on a wind noise in the driver rear door being fixed. I picked the vehicle up one month ago and they have attempted to fix it twice and guess what I stil have a wind noise. I don't have the window listed on the "We Owe" sheet because it was supposed to be fixed before I picked the car up. I am 100% sure it was written on a document that the dealership has. What are my options?

I realize that the closer you can match the gearing to the road and engine speed, the better your MPG will be.

But don't you reach a point of diminishing returns, and it's just technology for technology's sake?

Picture this, you're in a traffic jam in your hydrogen powered car, idling away, shooting water vapour out of your exhaust.. Just how much water is being released? If it's a warm day will it increase the humidity in the local area, and if so by how much, will it make the local weather sticky and yuck?

Say it's a cold day and the water is condensing as it leaves the exhaust, will it be enough to make the road wet, if there is enough cars on the road will it be like driving in the rain?

Say it's below freezing out, will the water condense and turn to slippery ice on the road?

Thanks wise people.
