Is it possible to remove the limiter chip that restricts the top speed of most German cars (For example, the Mercedes E63AMG) to 155mph/250kmph? If so how much faster would the car be? (again, you can use the E63AMG as an example)

As a tanker driver I have delivered bulk automotive fluids from refineries to name brand motor oil companies and bulk distributors that supply to quick lube businesses. Most of these companies do not refine their own oil and essentially the consumer is buying the same product regardless of the color of the bottle it comes in. I’m not sure what additives are blended with the oil when it reaches these motor oil companies but I do notice different colors in the product. I also notice the color varies in the same brand of motor oil based on the stock it buys from the refinery. As long as the base product meets the specs it’s all the same stuff. With said, my question is what would be the difference of buying Wal-Mart brand dextrin/mercon lll that meets or exceeds specs for 7 gallon or buying top name brand for 12 gallon?

Every time I get out of my car, I get a shock when I touch the door. It has happened with 2 different type of cars as well so I know it's just not this specific car. I'm afraid I'm going to blow up when I stop for fuel!

I do many motorway miles as a van courier and have noticed some HGV drivers leave a rear door open when parked up. Why is this? They are not necessarily refrigerated trucks that need airing now and then. Any ideas / trucker's out there that can shed a bit of light?

Given the cost of insanely expensive car insurance, I have put off modifying my car for the forseeable future. However, I want to know if there are any modifications I can do that will not affect my insurance premium. For example, do I need to tell the insurance company if I respary my standard wheels in a different colour? Thanks.

I've been living at this apartment complex for 2 years, and they suddenly changed my parking spot. I used to be able to come home and park right in front of my door. Now I'm farther away. What's even worse is that most of the time when I come home at night, my parking spot is TAKEN! Yes, we do have ASSIGNED spots. We paid a $10 deposit, yet the building staff can't do anything about a car that's been in the wrong spot unless it's been there for 24 hours! Such BS! So I'm wanting to put some scary nails in some wood and put it at my parking spot to scare potential parkers off. I'm sure the apartment managers will have a problem with it, but I have a problem with not being able to park in my own spot. What do you guys suggest I build!?

When I'm going 25 mph, 3rd gear is higher than 2,000RPM, while 4th gear makes it run about 1.5 rpm.. I have the same dilemma with 35mph.

Is it bad to have it run low (it isn't to the point where it is sputtering)?. Is it bad to have it run a little high? Is one more fuel efficient?

I have a '96 Buick Skylark w/ a 3.1L V6 and 4sp A/T. When I travel up a hill, it'll stutter and stumble a little bit. If I push or lift the gas pedal away from where I am maintaining speed, it will go away. Also it occurs after it is warmed up. Speed is about 40-50 mph. I have had the transmission serviced a year ago, ignition system serviced about 10 months. Is there something I missed?
