Los angeles driver. Please don't lecture me about running red light. I fully aware of how dangerous it is. Thank you very much. your answers are very appreciated

the rear and front. the front camera is next to the lights itself, in malibu. i got a ticket about 5 months ago and it showed a picture of the front of my car, and you can recognize my face through the front windshield (you can even tell that i was on my phone) and then another picture with the back of my bmw. they do this to prove who is driving and not just the owner of the car. alot of kids have their cars under their parents name here as you know, and it's so the right person gets in trouble, which is the driver.

Not all red lights camera are set up for that.
The ones that are take the picture of the rear plate. As you run the red, it triggers the camera to take the photo are you are on your way through, thus the rear.

yes i got a picture in the mail about 2 months ago of me turning at a no turn on red and it was my back plate.

It depends on the position of the camera, sometimes it gets the front, sometimes it gets the rear.
