I just got my endorsement, and other than during the training course, I have never riden a motorcycle. I want to get a sportbike. What makes and engine sizes do you recommend? Oh yeah, I am kind of on a budget because I go to school full time and don't work that much.

I checked the fuses, charged the battery, and all of that good stuff. It started, I took it for a spin and then it wont start up again, its been doing this for a while. It is a 2001 yamaha r6. It does have a custonm exaust just in case that could factor in, or add to the problem. I am lso thinking it has something to do with the starter. Does anyone know the cost of having something like that repaired?

I have a 2001 blaster. All done up but when I start it and give it gas it boggs out then stalls.I cleaned air filter, new plug, adjusted air screw. This problem started after I got a new frame and exchanged all parts to new frame. Now this. It starts but it pops and pudders then stalls when I give it gas. Please help me. Could it be wrong wireing? It ran like A top before the swap, no problems at all.

It is not the battery-I bought a new one. It will not kick-start when this happens. Sometime the solenoid arcs and sometimes not when I place a screwdriver across it-so I do not think it is that. I just get a click click click-like its a dead battery. The guy at the shop where I bought it has had it over a week (and now the paint is scratched BTW!) and he cannot figure it out. So I brought it home (to avoid more paint scratches!).

WTF people.
What is the fascination with how fast your bike will go???
I bought mine so I could enjoy riding, not to see if I could go 150 mph while doing a reverse wheelie at a stop light.
If you're that interested in setting a land speed record, go buy an jet engine bike and take it to the salt flats and see how fast you can go. Don't jeopardize my life on the streets.
If you don't make it on the salt flats then I guess that's God's way of weeding out the idiots of the world.

Hello all. This is my first time on here and need some advice about my Exhaust. I do not know much about my bike but it is getting noisier. i got my lass to rev it and i looked at the exhaust and found thay where they join, it has come away a little.

I believe its downpipes and then twin cans on back and they just clamp or slide in together. it is in the middle where they join. the back boxes are mint condition and so are the downpipes but where they join it looks ok, but as i said they have come apart.

Can this be welded or do i need new parts?

aprox £150 for down pipes and £200 for twin cans.

Can i just fill the hole???

I do have guarentee with it even though it is an R reg and the only thing on my contract which is not guarenteed are alarms. no mention of exhausts.

Cheers people's

I can hear and feel a "clunk" when I release the clutch... it usually happens in mid range gears, 2-4, and less noticable in gears 1 and 5. Any idea what this could be? I'm a broke student and don't want to have to take my bike to the workshop if it's not necessary! Thanks for the help...

I put in a suggestion to add MX racing/riding to the Sports section. There are often questions that get posted under cars/transportation that are about dirtbikes. Idiots like me get confused and answer questions that are about harleys and streetbikes. Do you think the category should be added? Below is the link to give a thumbs up to get yahoo's attention, if you want to support this.
