I checked the fuses, charged the battery, and all of that good stuff. It started, I took it for a spin and then it wont start up again, its been doing this for a while. It is a 2001 yamaha r6. It does have a custonm exaust just in case that could factor in, or add to the problem. I am lso thinking it has something to do with the starter. Does anyone know the cost of having something like that repaired?

Put some gas in it. About $2.50 a gallon.

If it isn't even turning over and it randomly quit it could be the starter. It may also be a problem with the exhaust depending upon how long it was on the bike before it stopped running. I would look in the phone book for a bike mechanic but the problem is either the starter or a problem with the exhaust. There is also a chance it could be a spark plug.

If it won't turn over when the bike is hot, most likely the armature in the starter is gone.If you can get a functional starter from a salvage yard and install it yourself ,that is the cheapest way to go.

If you charge it and it starts then you ride it than it doesnt start than it sounds like the charging unit or maybe starter armature. Advice would be get a service manual off the net (15-20bucks). if you get one of those it will save you 65bucks/hr for a shop to fix it.
