New rider...am I going to sweat to death if I get a leather jacket for spring/summer riding? Or should I choose textile even though it's "less safe"?

In the MSF course the instructor said that it was ticketable to share a parking stall with a car. Like if you parked on the far left edge of the stall, and another car managed to squeeze into the remaining space.

But... is parking between stalls in a parallel parking row legal? What if you park between two metered parallel street parking stalls?

Also, is parking on the sidewalk legal? Can I chain the bike to a parking meter or is that asking for a ticket?

This is in hawaii btw.

I have a 1974 honda CB750. I have ran out of gas a few times and it seems to have plenty of gas in the tank. I have added inline fuel filters on it. so setlment doesn't seem to a factor anymore.

I'm assuming they're close to similar across bikes, but for clarification I have a ninja 500 '97. The two locks are located just above the rear wheel, attached below the seat. Do I lock the helmet to that little bar? If so, how?

Thanks!

I'm about to start taking motorbike lessons but there are a few things I'm not sure about and I would appreciate your opinions.

Firstly, I've been told by various people that one of the biggest dangers faced by a motorcyclist is cars pulling out without seeing them, and this actually happened to my boyfriend last summer. Is this type of accident very common?

What are the other types of hazards associated with motorbikes?

Also, how much protection does all the safety gear offer if you crash? I'm prepared to spend alot to get the best quality stuff, leathers, back protector, boots, gloves good helmet etc. Can you recommend any good brands for women?

One more question, my bf is buying me a motorbike for when I pass my test. I'm 5'4" and 118 lb. I want a sports bike. He reckons 600cc so it will last but I'm worried it might be a bit big and powerful. I don't want to kill myself. Do you think it would be better to start of with something a bit smaller?

Thanks for your help.

I was offroading with my 1200gs without dirt tires so my front tire planted in puddle of soft mud. The front tire is ****** to the left and when I drove it home I could feel the shocks catching like I had a dent in my front tire. I checked the wheel and there was no dent. Is it possible to release the middle segment that holds the fork in the middle to the bike, re-align the tire and tighten everything up. Whats the best next step for this bike?

I have a 1981 XV750 Virago, I am having problems with the starter engagement, that awful crunching noise when you hit the start button. I sent out the starter to be tested and rebuilt if needed, but how do I check the gears the starter engages without spilling all the guts out. I was curious to see if someone could attach a diagram or describe the steps via e-mail, before this season here in Buffalo NY starts officially. Thanks

Do you have to take the whole engine apart or just part of it and if you have to rebuild it is it easy for someone that has never done it. Do you have to buy parts how much do the parts cost. I know a person that fixes harley davisons will he know how to do it.
