I understand that if i want plates and insurance i will require a licence.

But i just want to transfer the ownership in my name, Ill get my licence this summer, then get plates and insurance.

I am going to sign up to take the class but my friend told me that if I have never ridden one before I take the ridden test then it will be extremely hard. Whats the best way to learn?

1986 HD Sportster 883XLH.
Started when bike would just shutt off while riding.
Brought it to mechanic and they did a carb rebuild
and installed a new tank and fuel valve since the original
was corroded.
Bike did run for a while but then periodically there is no power at take off and bike almost stalls.
After checking out the bike, I noticed that the spark plugs get covered in black carbon, escpecially the front plug.
I am wondering if the plugs are the reason for the poor performace.
I carefully cleaned and checked the gap and reinstalled plugs but it happens again.
I use very little choke only when starting the bike in case it is from too rich air/fuel mixture.
I also checked the air filter and it looks good.
Any ideas why this happens?
Is it related the the valves of something else?
Is there a way to check it, without being a mechanic with all the tools?
It would be nice to get an idea before attemting to go back to the shop.

I have an '03 triumph speed triple and I want to show off the swing arm. I am currently running a TOR low mount exhaust and was wondering what the consequences would be if I simply took the can off. Actually, there is a piece of pipe that I will leave on (that connnects to the header-about 12inches in length) just beneath my foot, but I want to take off the entire carbon fiber bit. A good friend of mine who has/rebuilds old muscle cars says it shouldn't do anything to the bike or its performance. Another friend says he thinks it may be bad for the bike. Anyone know for sure?

It seems nearly immposible to get the seal in where it supposed to go. Is this normal. Do I have to work it in. Also there is a metal side and a rubber side to the oil seal. Which side should be facing in towards the engine:?? Any help would be great!! Thank you all!!

I have a friend who is going to be soon going through a divorce and wants to transfer the title on his harley into my name. The bike is paid in full and he has the title, he said he will not drive the bike while it is in my name etc...would I be liable for anything while the bike is in my name. Only the bike would be in my name, not the insurance, tags etc.

it feels like and sounds like it is slowing down, i took off the air bow cleaned it out and out it bike on the bike thinking it was that, but its not, there is oil in it, and its a 4 stoke engine and theres 4 stroke oil in it , so how do i find out what is wrong with it myself????

I remember this show was on Saturdays immediately after Knight Rider and starred a cool jet black motorcycle. i dont beleive it lasted longer than a few seasons, but it was awesome. Anyone remember the name of the show? I think the name of the show was also the name of the motorcycle as well if that helps. Thanks!

This bike sucks. Its time the indian 2 wheeler market grew up and started looking at things called twin cylinder bikes( at least twin cylinders). What the heck is wrong with these guys manufacturing all single cylinder bikes, and adding parts for the sake of look, without giving any brain for aerodynamics( heard abt that).

Look at the rear shocks, still the same, twin coil dampers. For god's sake bikes should have monoshocks at least after unicorns launch. Look at the same old tyres that pulsar 180 has.

If the intention is to slot this as a race bike, then bajaj better start thinking.

Cos once foreign manufacturers come to india( they have started), these bikes wont even sell in circuses

I have TVS Star City byke March06 model, already done 16000 kms..Last week it was not starting, I took it to the dealer for checkup, he changed the spark plug ignition coil (the small box with three wires running out, one takes the current to the spark plug) but charged me Rs. 700, is it justified??? I think I am befooled. Pls. help.

When I hit the starter u hear a loud pop and a little smoke comes out the exhaust. Also when my bike is running, I can smell gas. what's wrong with my bike/baby!? :(

It is a single engine 650cc bike. I have used High Octane premium gas at 91 octane rating, but heard that I should use regular lower octane fuel for a higher burning engine. Currently I am experiencing back fires, stalls, and burned a whole tank of gas after only going about 40 miles. Any thoughts?
