When I hit the starter u hear a loud pop and a little smoke comes out the exhaust. Also when my bike is running, I can smell gas. what's wrong with my bike/baby!? :(

I had a similar problem with my Shadow. Check your exhaust pipes; most likely, it's a leak. The gas smell means it is near the engine or not far down the pipe. Hope that helps.

It could also be a fouled plug or the gap is offset. And could be from bad gas if you let it set to long.

it's running too rich turn your adjustment down for the gas

well...2 possible causes ..mostlikely the timing is off...may have slipped...if it is not adjustable by you ...then a cam chain may have slipped a tooth ...the other possiblility is carbs are too lean..turn in the mixture screw
