Hi, I have a 1986 Georgie boy cruise air 2. It has a 450 engine
When i bought it it would start right up (couple months ago). If and when it sat a few weeks it may take a few times of cranking. Now that its cooler out im lucky to get it started. When i do it takes 10-13 times of starting it up, keeping it revved, and dieing before it stays running. Any ideas.
Thanks

My 2003 Acura MDX's "MAINT RQ'D" light came on while I was driving. Now, its a steady light. Its not the "check engine" light but it is now lit and I am worried it might just stop in the middle of the road.

I am thinking about going to Midas..but I really can't afford to go without a transportation during the week so..maybe trying to get them fixed on Saturday.. I wonder if they are open and how fast they can work on them..and how much should I expect..

I don't know if going to the dealership is better or not..I am afraid they might take longer and cost more.

Thanks!!

After I start my car, immediately after it turns over, I hear this crackling noise for about 3 seconds. Any idea what it is? This noise usually goes away later in the day after the car gets warmed up.

I recently got new spark plugs / wires. And recently got a new fuel filter and air filter.

1992 F150 4.9 L and mechanics are scratching their heads. It starts when the sun comes out and it reaches at least 60 degrees. what are two different pro mechanics overlooking. cold weather seems to be the thing. one said maybe it something to do with fuel emission hookup but they have no idea. paid to have it hauled in a couple of weeks ago and when they tried it was a warmer day and it cranked fine. they cannot figure it out. what the hell is the matter and please don't say it is the blue oval in the grille. have never had any vehicle do this particular thing.

I'll stop the car and turn off the engine. I check my wheel to make sure everything is on tight. When I start driving again it will do okay again. I was told my wheels might be unbalanced. Does this sound correct?

Well, I broke my 5th cheap-o ratchet yesterday and I've went through so many discount sets, I have a ton of sockets and no ratchets. I was looking into getting a good set that'll last me.

The Duralast tools in auto-zone cought my eye with their lifetime unlimited warranty, but for $35 is it worth it? What do you guys think.

The only similar thing I see is the craftsman tools, but those are $75 a piece on average.

Also, does their warranty mean that the tool will last, or that they've marked it up so much that they can afford replacing it?

Thanks for the input.

My 1992 Lumina Euro has started shaking real bad when I go down the highway. Usually around 60mph, and gets worse the faster you go. I make a bad vibrating noise in the rear and the shaking is in the rear. I need to replace the rear brakes. will this have anything to do with the shaking? Feels like the shaking is coming from the left rear. any ideas?

I noticed that my car was starting "hard" a few days ago then when I went to start it yesterday it would not start. It makes a clicking sound and will NOT start when jumped either. The battery is only 3-4 months old. I have a 99 Ford Windstar. Alternator? Starter? And what is the cost for these things?

I have a '01 Ford Taurus with a "Vulcan" V6 (150 h.p.)
Until 1997 Ford made an F-150 with a straight 6.
Since most vehicles use a "V" engine, why is it better (if it is?)
Also interested if Toyota or other import trucks are better than the old "big three"? Thanks!

i came outside last night to go somewhere and my car wouldnt start. it is cold today to be in ala., but i just had a new alternator belt, alternator, new starter(months ago), and a new battery put in my car at least month and half ago. i have gas in my car. i put the key in the ignition andthe lights where the odometer will come on when i switch it to the back, but then it will not turn over. if the temp outside gets warmer, will that help with the car starting process? and if i get a jump off, how long will it last u think?

ok i went to costco this morning and asked a professional about the perfect battery for my car. when i got home i took out the old battery and put in a new one. although my car old battery was smaller and half the amount of amps in it. i switch it. so when i switched it i tried to turn it on. my car didn't start, i got my other car and set up the cables and try to see if it would start. no sign, later then i took of the cables from the working car and hit them against each other and sparks went off. so i thought that it was maybe the wrong one. afterwards i put in my old one and tried to turn the car on and still no sign of lights flashing.tried cable wires with my other car and still didn't turn on. what did i do wrong?

i went to look at 3000gt today. my dad pointed out that something was wet near the tranny and when i looked from underneath the car, underneath the tranny area was wet. (supposibly the tranny was rebuilt last year, it shouldnt be wet then) i also noticed 3 bottles of antifreeze in the back of the car. I know this could be any possible problem but if i could get a general idea of what the problem might be i would be more inclined to buy it. i dont want to spend more money fixing the car then it cost to buy it and i know tranny can get real expensive real quick... any one know of a common problem, or what the problem might be and what it would cost to fix it?

I looked really well on the side near and around the water pump but could see no visible moisture. What is my next step to find out where it's coming from? Is there a coolant drain plug leaking around there? Thanks.
