its your torque converter on your transmission i have had this happen to several different cars and my mechanic unplugs something on the transmission that activates the converter and then the car runs fine.

worked at totota for a while...gm tech also........its related to the torque converter lock upthat happens when trans shifts into 4th gear....sounds like the solenoid is stuck........slight chance a transmission flush may loosen it up....just a chance before having trans being pulled....good luck
