After I start my car, immediately after it turns over, I hear this crackling noise for about 3 seconds. Any idea what it is? This noise usually goes away later in the day after the car gets warmed up.

I recently got new spark plugs / wires. And recently got a new fuel filter and air filter.

If the noise happens for a few seconds every time you start the car it may be the starter motor. The gear that engages with the flywheel is not kicking out when the engine starts which causes a rattling, cracking noise. Most mechanics will know the sound and the best way to fix the problem is to replace the starter motor if it is indeed the problem. If the noise has only been happening for a short while you won't have to fix it right away. The car will still start and as long as the noise stops soon after starting the car nothing else will be damaged. If the noise turns into a grinding sound and the car motor doesn't turn over, the flywheel will be ruined and you should replace the starter immediately.
