Someone told me a story about dumping smelly liquid in the coolant reservoir or something that works with the air conditioner. I don't know if it's possible. Do cars use water for the AC?
My brother also bought some kind of fruit-smelling liquid that would make the car smell good by using the air conditioner. Where does the liquid go and do you think it would work?

are not like deep scratches that you can feel with fingernail, but they're like a rainbow shape right in the line of vision.
Typical glass cleaner didn't work.
Will I have to replace the windshield? It doesn't look that serious to me.

My Ford Galaxy suddenly wouldn't start, it turns over but doesn't catch.
It has been in the garage for a few days and they discovered that there's no spark getting to the spark plugs, apparently an electrical fault but they can't find the actual cause of the problem.
Has anyone any ideas or maybe you had a similar problem.

Whenever my mother drives, she always shifts to the next gear after a given period of time, regardless of her speed.

So she will be going 35, shift to fourth, which is fine, then after five seconds, go into fifth. Nothing happens until she accelerates, and the car begins to vibrate violently.

If she keeps doing this, what might happen to the car?

Is it bad to drive with the over drive on? Or off? And does it save gas to drive with it off? I would like as many answers as possible...just for accuracy.

My husband backed into a friend's car in June. She said "not to worry about it and that she didn't even care about her car". Now, almost 5 months later....we got a call telling us we have to pay $618 to fix the damage. Not only does this suck coming from our friend, but 5 months later? Is this legal?

My alternator tested bad about 2 months ago so I had it replaced last month. On Sunday the cars dashboard lights were coming on and going off (ABS, AIR BAG, TCS) and after stopping to get gas, we tried to start the car and nothing. We had to have it jumped. So when we were driving it to my Aunts at every red light everything got dark (headlights, dash lights) until the gas was pushed and they all came back strong. We took it back to the store where we purchased the alternator and it tested bad. But he also said he smelled a burning smell and said to get the electrical system checked. We did that yesterday and everything in the whole car was fine, but the alternator tested bad and the battery was about 25% charged. Is there something that could be wrong in a car that would cause it to kill alternators? Or did we maybe just get a bad one? I don't see how something could be wrong to kill the alternator after a month... or is there? Please help!

P.S. This is a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS

I recently changed the pressure line on my 98 toyota corolla. We did not know how to bleed the line so i filled the resivior and the wheel moves fin. When I turn the wheel thought it makes this whining sound like when it is low on fluid. Does that mean that there is air in the line. I am driving to South Carolina form Florida and want to make sure the pump isn't going to go out on me.

I was told it wasn't worth the money to have a fuel converter put in my 1990 Ford Escort. As I understand it, a fuel converter and using biodiesal can double or triple your miles per gallon. But when I inquired about putting a converter in my car to a relative who works on cars, he told me it wouldn't be worth the money. I put in around 3-400 miles a week on my car, so I would really like to up the miles per gallon, so why can't I do the converter with my car?

I was having some trouble with my car recently, and someone told me that i had "bad gas". I'm assuming that gasoline is like water or juice for cars, and anytime i get something that tastes bad, I add sugar. My friend assured me that it was a good idea, so should i add a cup of sugar straight to the tank....? or do i need to mix it thouroughly in a can first?

I found out who the City of Toronto hired as the contractor, made contact with the site manager and e-mailed him the photos of the damage and repair bill as well as additional estimate required, along with the details of the occurence - raised manhole cover during resurfacing, no way to avoid running over it. Their claims department sent me a form letter denying my claim. The total damage to the exhaust system is in the neighborhood of $ 500. How do I go about having them pay for it, or do I have to pursue the City of Toronto as well? Small claims court, or do I first suggest to them I am willing to go to court?
Thx for any insight/comments
