Slip the clutch and only use the lowest gear (first) and reverse. Keep your foot on the clutch and allow the vehicle to move slowly. It's not difficult; all you need is (like they say about getting to Carnegie Hall) practice, practice, practice. Good luck!

You just need a bit more time, and you'll have it.
You need to learn where the point is where the clutch begins to grab. Yep, parking might take some slippage, but you can do it. You got it in one- you have to release the clutch over and over, using the spot where it begins to grab. Don't rev the motor too much. In fact, depending on how much torque you have at idle, you might be able to just use idle to make you move backwards. Parallel parking is another issue- I'm not sure anyone even has to do that to take the driving test.
Try this- drive slowly forward, using the clutch to go slowly, then slow to a stop, then go a bit faster again. It's all about theh "touch" with the clutch pedal.
I may have to go and see what I do when I parallel park any of my vehicles- all with standard, not auto transmissions, and see if there's anything I do different, but I think it's just knowing where that spot is on the clutch.
Relax, when you've had more time with that car, you won't even think about what you're doing with the clutch.

Dont...parallel parking sucks as it is. You dont have to be going fast to parallel park all you have to do is push on the gas a little bit and let out the clutch slowly, you wont be going that fast and you will stay in first and reverse the whole time, you dont need any other gears. After you have been driving your manual car for a while you will get used to it and learn new things. You can do some pretty awesome driving in manual cars than you can in automatic cars.

Why in Gods name would you have to speed up to parallel park a manual transmission car? You're going to back up in reverse at about two or three miles per hour and then go forward in first gear into the parking space. Again about two or three miles per hour. You would only use the clutch to shift into reverse after you stop next to the car in front of the parking space and again to shift into first to go forward and line up your car parallel to the curb.Of course you must use the clutch again when you apply the brakes upon attaining residence in the parking space.

if you are paraell parking you don't need to speed up, all you need is 1st and reverse, and do it at low rpm's till you get used to it. find the lowest gear to so call cruise at that won't choke out the engine with the least amount of accelerator action, don't feather (ride) the clutch pedal, you will only burn the clutch up faster, and if you have to sit far awhile take it out of gear and your foot completely of the clutch pedal.if not your partially engaging the throwout bearing that pushs the clutch in, thus causing heat and unneeded wear/ shorter life span of clutch.

If you slowly ease off the clutch you'l notice that you dont have to press the gas for the car to move.
