Car in neutral and the engine rev and accidentally put it in gear my car is ok for a long time now suddenly when i slow down my car jerks when going from second to first is this connected.

when you rev in n and go to gear you put a large shock loading through the box, wearing it and causing things o go out of adjustment, including the bands. so therefore these two incidents are connected and it is time for a trans service.

you have caused massive strain to the g/box as the are designed to be put into gear on tickover slamming it into d under revs is going to knock it out of line thus giving you the clunk from second to first.
