The fan works fine on settings 2 through 5 (on the dial) but when I put it on #1 (the lowest setting) it does nothing. What would cause that?

i had a bent rim which went flat, i want to take the tire off because the tire is still good, is there anyway to do that without taking it to a repair shop? and can a repair shop deny you service if you ask them to put the tire back on a rim that you bought yourself?

I left it with my mom for 5 months. She says she would forget to turn it on to keep it running ( she doesn't drive). When I turn the key, I get a faint click, and one very dim light (ABS). No radio. The power seat will move back a little, but not forward. The car is a 1995 T Bird. Automatic. Is it the battery or the starter, or both??? Thanks!

I have a 1996 Ford windstar that is fuel injected, last week when it got cold it wouldnt start, so we had it towed in to be repaired. The tow truck driver, and the mechanic both then told me when its super cold out to lightly step on the gas, less than half way, when starting it. My step dad is insisting that they have know clue what they are talking about because all I will do is flood it. Please help...for at least peace of mind!

We have a 2002 Ford Escape, and recently noticed a crack about 13 or so inches long down by the windshield wipers. So, I was wondering if anyone would know the approximate cost to have the windshield replaced? I would like to have a good, possibly lifetime warranty on the replacement.

I have a 2003 Honda C-RV that is maintained regularly. It has 33,000 miles on it. I'm going to be driving from the SF bay area to Arizona and back later this year and I don't want any tire problems. Should I be thinking about getting new tires?

I have a '85 Monte SS with a 400 small bloc and recently had a turbo 350 installed. The vehicle was stalling when put in gear. I have set the idle to 1500 rpm and when its put in gear it drops to about 800. Will a stall converter solve this issue.

Ok,I'm bit of new to driving, but i did completely master it within days. Also my car has got much more smooth,so I prefer to drive in as high gear as possible e.g.even if the speed is 35 km/ph or so I drive in 3rd gear but the car does'nt give jerk then,it still goes smooth, likly in any other gear.
MY question is ,when driving,is it harmful for ur car to drive in high gear while it is still low in speed, also will it make effect on fuel efficincy,be negative or positive?

I'll try to make a long story short. I have a 95 Pontiac Sunfire GT. Summer before last, it overheated and I had to leave it (8 hours from home) with a mechanic.

The guy was nice - tried to save me money and not do anything that wasn't expensive or questionably necessary. I had some sense that he was trustworthy. He said the tests did not show that my head gasket was blown. He wondered if it might be the water pump but he did change out the coolant and replaced the radiator cap and had gotten it to where it would drive a good ways without overheating. I brought it home in cold weather.

Since then, this is my year: Summers I have to drive it with the heat cranked up full blast, and even then I have to pull over an let it cool if it's real hot out or I'm going more than a dozen or twenty miles. Spring and Fall I still have to run the heat full blast to keep it at least in the low end of the "yellow" on the temp gague. And now this winter, I am finding that the "heat" isn't. cont'd

The temp here is 5, but the windchill is -20 or so. Should I start my car at lunch & let it run for a while, or would it be better for the battery to just wait until I'm ready to leave for the day?

I have a 99 Sebring. At first my heater would blow cold air when stopped but then return to heat when driving. Now it alternates between blowing hot and cold air regardless of the car is moving or not. What could this be and how much am I looking at to have fixed?

the battery on m diesel van ran out of water and went flat, i topped it back up today but my mechanic said it would be no good after being dry and that i need to buy a new battery, is this true or is he just trying to make money out of me? would the old one hold a charge or will it be damaged now?

I have a '94 Nissan Sentra, with about 138,000 miles on it. Lately, the radio has been flicking off with a very loud 'click', and coming back on within seconds. At the same time, the clock flickers (though it has only reset once), and the car goes into an almost-stall. The airbag sign also comes on. However, the check engine light has not come on at all.

Is this a case of a bad battery, or something more? The car just had an inspection three weeks ago, and passed no problem. I'm thinking it's the battery, but I'm low on money these days and don't want to buy a new battery just to find out that's not the problem, and I don't want to bring it to an auto shop just to find out it's a bad battery and have to pay them for labour that I really didn't need.

Ideas?
