I have a 99 Sebring. At first my heater would blow cold air when stopped but then return to heat when driving. Now it alternates between blowing hot and cold air regardless of the car is moving or not. What could this be and how much am I looking at to have fixed?

.The regulator that determines Hot, Clod, Medium...is run off the engine vacuum.
Check the lines for leaks, or deterioration.
The vacuum changes often between stops and while driving.....Just look for vacuum lines going into a central area....
Picture the doors behind the dash opening to heat and then closing to cool as the vacuum changes.
Good Luck

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR EITHER LOW ON COOLANT OR YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT. AFTER THE CAR IS AT NORMAL RUNNING TEMP, PUT YOUR HAND ON THE UPPER HOSE . IF TO HOT TO THE TOUCH, REPLACE THERMOSTAT. START CHEAPLY FIRST THOUGH, WHEN ENGINE IS COLD, CHECK THE ANTIFREEZE.

i own a repair shop, and it may just be the coolant level in it ,if they get too low they wont circulate the coolant good enough to keep it hot all the time, check the level in the plastic reservoir for it and make sure its up to the mark it should be at,usually when one is doing this its just low on coolant, good luck,i hope this help,s.
