If you are in below freezing temperatures, put some coals in a Habachi, lite em, when it's ready to cook your breakfast, slide it under the oil pan and wait ten minutes. While the oil is warming up..charge your battery, after ten minutes, remove the Habachi, turn the charger of and start the engine. About 60 % of the people on the road during the freezing winters in Wyoming do this.

P.S. Block heaters do burn up pretty fast.

When you say "frozen", what exactly is wrong? It just wont start? If it wont start due to the cold, the battery may be going bad on you. If it is literally frozen, as in the coolant, you may have much bigger troubles as when the coolant freezes it can cause engine damage.

The old fashioned style was to drag out the blowdryer outside and heat up the engine...i can still picture my dad in my head doing exactly that....

Sometimes moisture can get into the engine, and cause a major gum to form throughout the engine. Many times this is what causes engines to freeze and lock up. If you catch it prior to locking up, you can do an oil flush, otherwise..........get your self a good mechanic. Sorry.

do you not have enough antfreeze? If the oil is too thick, try a hair dryer or small torch on the oil pan
