The fan works fine on settings 2 through 5 (on the dial) but when I put it on #1 (the lowest setting) it does nothing. What would cause that?

blower motor resistor or fan switch
about 50 / 50 chance for either
very rarely damaged wiring or wiring connectors

It could be a bad bearing is creating too much initial friction energy. The motors lower setting isn't making enough power to start the fan spinning. If it makes any ticking clicking or other repetitive sounds when on setting 2 thats probably the problem.
