What is a reasonable price to pay to have a timing belt replaced on my 1990 Honda Accord?

You are looking at around $600. Timing belt- balance shaft belt - cam & crank seals (oil seals), valve cover gasket ( valve cover has to be taken of to do belts) & water pump. Have them check the condition of your drive belts - they have to be taken off anyhow, no extra labor just parts!

1990 Honda Accord Water Pump

Around $500 for just the timing belt alone.

However, if the waterpump hasn't been replaced within 6 years or more, you should have them put a new one on also, as it's exposed while doing the timing belt, and will only add about another $100. If your waterpump goes out at a later time, then your timing belt has to come off to replace it, and you'll pay the $500 for that again, plus the $100.

And finally, have them put on new drive belts ($50 tops), as the old ones have to come off anyway. Then you'll be set for a while.

You should expect to pay about 780-800... With that you should have the timing belt, waterpump, A/C belt, Alt. Belt, Power Steering Belt, Cam seal, Crank Seal, Balance Shaft Seal, and the valves adjusted. If they are just trying to replace the timing belt then it will run you in the 200's but I would not suggest doing that.

$600 -$700.

You should also have the water pump replaced at the same time since you have to take the belt off to get to it.
