Just had a rock put a small chip in my windshield. I am looking for something I could do to prevent it from sending out the spiderweb cracks. I think I have heard about using some type of glue.

My girlfriend has a 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass that has a coolant leak. Originally when the low coolant light went on she refilled the coolant. About two-weeks later the coolant had leaked out almost completely. What is the most probably cause of this. Where should I take the car? Is there a shop that won't charge me for inspection? I've heard it might need a new thermostat which would only cost like $25.00. I've also heard it could be the head gasket, which to replace and resurface the upper part of the engine could cost as much as $1600.00. Can anyone give me some advice so I don't get ripped off.

Lies regarding what cars will run with this fuel. I own a 1991 explorer that WILL NOT run with this fuel. It vaporizes in the fuel rail and wont start.

I just posted this question about 1/2 hour ago. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070109093251AAC4eaA

My husband just spoke with the "mechanic" who did everything to our car, and they did NOT do an engine flush. They just replaced the fluid that they accidently drained out. So the engine is slipping after new fluid is put in the car. The only other thing that got done to the car that day as explained in my original question is 2 new front tires, wheel alignment and oil change.

Any ideas?

My ABS light comes on occasionally, but not my brake lights. I just got my brakes fixed (new pads and rotors) a couple of months ago -- I plan on taking this into a technician but will not be able to do so for a few days. Until then, can I get some ideas? Does brake fluid affect the ABS? Does this just mean that my ABS doesn't work and my brakes are fine? Could it possibly be time for a brake fluid flush?

Once in a while the starter will crank and the car starts up immediately, but I'll shut it off, and then it may not turn over again for several attempts (days).

I just bought a 2007 Corolla S and I've never had cloth seats before (and now I know why I shouldn't ever again):: I get a zap of electricity everytime I get out. This happens when I shut the door. I've tried using the rubber soles of my shoe to dampen the shock but even if this works, the next time I touch metal (say, a doorhandle) I get zapped. What can I do to ensure I don't build up static electricity?

Does anyone know where you can find a replacement case for a 96 piece crafstman socket set? Great set, guaranteed for life, tools are in great shape, but the case is falling apart. Without a good case, its impossible to find what you need...I can't just dump all of these things in a bag or regular tool box. Any ideas?

I have reason to suspect that I was charged for an oil change that never happened. I have taken it to another garage to look at and they said that in a diesel engine, after only a few hours running, it is impossible to tell if the oil is old or new. Does this sound right or is the brotherhood just closing ranks?
