Who installed your alternator ?? Did they check to see if it was working ?? Did anyone check the charging system BEFORE replacing parts ?? You should have a meter on your dash that shows if the alternator is charging. Do you look at it ?? The alternator also has a fuse you might check. It's located with the other fuses.

Did you determine why you needed a new battery and alternator in the first place? It's true that when one goes, so does the other, but they don't normally go without a reason.

It sounds like you have a short in your system. Did somebody install an electrical device in your car lately? Do you have a third-party stereo?

Check your fuse box to make sure there is no bypass.

One other thing: check your battery connection. The terminals are lead, which oxidizes easily. Even though a battery connection looks solid, it's possible that there is a significant loss in a bad connection. You should clean the terminals with some steel wool and make sure the connections are very tight.

Otherwise, it's true that your "new" battery might have a problem; or your "new" alternator might be a refurbished one that wasn't properly refurbished.

Check the battery, even new ones may have a damaged cell.

Either the battery is bad or something is causing a draw on it.
