my man is Holden mad. Do you think I should buy him HSV Premium Race bred tool kit which is only 23 piece or a V8 Supercars 100 piece tool kit which is less expensive but also much lower quality.
Quantity or quality?
HSV kit is $118 but V8 Supercars kit only $69

The temp gage goes up about a third of the gage. Thermostat seems to be opening up. The top heater core hose is warm the bottom heater core hose is very hot. I disconnected the top heater core hose. I connected a water hose to it. Water poured out the other end. Core seems to be open. I checked the vent door cable and it was in place. The air comming out is only warm for a minute or so then it cools down. If you wait a few minutes when you turn if back on it is warm again for a minute or less. Any ideas??

I am planning on getting a HSV tool kit for my man for Christmas but unsure which would be most useful to him. The 2 I have to choose from are:

1. 1/4'' drive 27 piece socket set
2. 23 piece tool kit includes:
-6'' combination plier
-digital tyre pressure gauge
-4,6,8,10,12mm sockets
-driver bits (phillips #1, #2, #3, blade 3,4,5mm, torx t10,t15,t20, hex key 4,5,6mm
-1/4''ratchet
spinner handle
-1/4'' adaptor
-multi tool

He has a 1980 UC torana he is workiing on and also works on his KTM dirtbike

Would much appreciate knowing whether tool kit or socket set is used more with these. Thanks

I inherited my dad's van when he died, essentially. He had left it to my sister, and it had some problems, so after her non-mechanically-inclined husband tried to fix it, she gave it to me. He pulled out this box, approximately 3 or 4 inches long, 1 inch deep, and 3 1/2 inches wide. It has plugs like the prongs on a plug you plug into the wall on one end, but they are in two horizontal lines - 5 in one, two in the other row. She said it came from underneath the dash on the driver's side, but I can't figure out where it goes. I drive a 1990 Chevy Astro (or would, if I could finish reassmbling things!). Thanks in advance!

My brake lights won't shut off so I went to check the brake switch, and sure enough the plastic stopper had broke off from age and
Florida heat. I am a chick and don't know much about cars but I don't have money to go to a mechanic. If I can buy the part myself and do it myself, then I would love to but is it complicated? Please help, thanks :)

I have a VW Bora with chrome piping around the body of the car. When getting out of the car in a tight space, the chrome piping in the middle of the rear door caught on the side pocket of my trousers and bent it outwards :-(

To straighten the piping I need to remove it from the bodywork but am unsure how it is removed. I don't want to pull it off and then find I have broken it completely.

Does anyone know how to remove the piping on the exterior of a door panel?

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

I am trying to help a friend of mine change his headlight bulb (just the bulb, not the whole assembly). He has a 1997 Olds Cutlass, and we're not sure how to gain access to the bulb. The headlight assembly has metal plates behind it, so we don't have direct access to the bulb. I've never come across a vehicle that doesn't offere easy direct access to the bulb. I'm thinking we're going to have to pull the whole headlight assembly forward in order to get to the bulb, but we're not exactly sure how.

Come to think of it, this also brings up the question: How many automotive novices does it take to change a headlight bulb?

Thanks.

My brother drives a 18 wheeler (semi) for a living, he would like to be able to shut off his truck at night (save a ton of fuel and no emissions) and still keep his crankcase (oil) warm. Are there any DC powered heaters? Maybe batteries with an inverter?

Thanks, Big Dog
