I was working on a car today and got the fiberglass on my skin and am itching from it, this is the first time this has happened, does anyone have any suggestions of how to get it off of me now or what I can do to make it stop itching.

Yes there is. This is going to sound silly, but a remedy that a lot of workers who work around this all the time use is to take a nylon pair of panty hose, or just ladies nylon hose and drag it over your skin in the direction that your hair grows on it. The fiberglass fibers have an affinity for the nylon and will get snagged in them and come out easy. Also do "not" take a hot shower, take as cold of a shower as you can stand as the heat of a hot shower opens your pores and allows the fibers to get lodged in further. Regardless in a day or so they will all work out and be gone, but for quick relief ask girlfriend, wife, or "somebody" for an old pair of hose to get most of them out. Lightly drag it over and over on the skin for a few minutes and works like a charm. The itching won't stop immediatly though because the histamine in our body has already started the itching reaction. That will go away in a bit once most of the fibers are gone. I used to do this after working attics with the fiberglass insulation installing security systems. After an insulation "installer" told me this trick didn't have any problems. :-)

Just a funny story about fiberglass. Years ago a new bus terminal was being constructed in town. It was located near skid row and wino's would sleep there at night. They would perform their bodily functions using the floor for a toilet and a piece of scrap fiberglass insulation for toilet paper-- and you thought you itched.
