First of all buy the new brakes at autozone for $20 to $30. Do not buy the cheapest valu craft get at least duralast or better. Then jack the car up puttting it on jackstands or a cinder brick under the frame for stabilty. Then get a Torx bit size 50 for a 3/8 ratchet size get some extenstions too Unless its the Pinch type pins that you have to pinch and push out with pliers. and a C Clamp to push the Caliper Piston back into the Caliper. Take the Tire off... Put the C clamp on the Caliper and clamp the caliper until the Piston is pushed back as far as it can go. Keep an eye out on the master cylinder and make sure its not spilling brake fluid. Then Remove the Pinch Pins or Torx float pin there is Two of them. The remove the Caliper off the Backet. Pull off the The old Pads there is two on them. then take the smaller Pad and put it on the caliper and make sure the holding clips go inside the piston and it will snap into place then Put the outter one in place it and it will click into place then put the caliper back on the the Bracket and put anti squeel grease or Anti seize on the float pins to make the pins eaiser to remove in the future. then put the bolts back on and you dont have to have the Torx bolts on there very tight like 40 Ft lbs of torque will do and then put your tire back on and press the brake pedal to prime the brakes up the pedal will travel alittle bit. then do the same for the other side. Then top off the brake fluid in the master cylinder. and then pump up the brakes when finshed.

The same way you change brakes on any other vehicle if you are asking because you are doing brakes for the first time, if you are mechanically inclined then get a Chilton's manual for that year they give you step for step information, make sure after you change the pads (shoes) and if needed the rotors that you have someone there to help you to bleed all the air out of the lines you need to do this several times. changing brakes is a fairly easy job and a lot cheaper if you can do it yourself but also don't take it lightly because if you screw up and don't have your breaks you a disaster waiting to happen. Good luck

Take the old parts off and put the new parts on. You'll need a tool to push the piston thing that moves the brake pad out back in, and you'll need to put some goop you can buy at a parts store on the back of the new pads or they will squeak like hell.

Don't ask people who sell parts about how to fix cars. They know nothing about it and will just get rude. If you need advice, wait until about the middle of the afternoon when the mechanics at your local dealership are getting tired. They'll be glad to take a break to talk to you and show off what they know. Just walk into the shop like you own the place and start asking questions. You'll be amazed. I've done it lots of times.

Honey, take it to the save. i visit modify the oil, tires and all kinds of different issues... yet in case you by no skill replaced brakes earlier then you may want to not do it. you may want to take the tire off, you may want to take the rotor off, you may want to take off the former brake pads and then positioned on the recent ones... yet there is extra to it then that, so it extremely is why you want to bypass to the save. you also opt to carry close a thanks to bleed the brakes as well. I actually have a 2001 Ford Explorer, and It turned right into a discomfort to do the brakes... I had a pal put in my brakes earlier and he particularly a lot drove my vehicle off a hill because he did not bleed the brakes precise.

front brakes are easy. just pull the retaining clips out and slide the brake pads out. then put in the new pads and retaining clips.

i like to use the claw end of a hammer to pry the brakes away from the disc a bit and give me a little more room.

drive around and stomp on the brakes a few times to adjust them and make sure they work.

simple brake jobs are real cheap. alot of places will do a pad replacement for less than 100 bucks. please take it to someone else, because if you are on here asking, that tells me you are a novice, and brakes are waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy too critical of a system for a person with little or no experience to mess with. the family in front of you at the intersection depends on you doing the right thing here.

place parking brake on, block rear tires from rolling, loosen lug nuts, jack front of car up, take front tires off, remove calipers, remove the center bolt and cap, remove rotors and inspect bearings to see if you have to replace them, then replace everything in opposite order. good idea to get a haynes manual for wrench sizes and pictures too.
