The temperature dropped and I thought my car door was frozen. The key will only go partially into the lock. I put de-icer in the lock but the key will not go all the way in. Any suggestions?

I just changed oil in my Vanagon, (1.9 engine) and even after running for several minutes, the oil pressure light won't go off. Also, I have not used the van much lately, but when I do the gas mileage is really bad!(1/3 or 1/2 of normal) Can the gas mix with the oil in any way if something blew? It smokes some, but not horribly. Seems really low on power though. Don't know where to start. Thanks for your help.

My key does not disable the Anti-Theft Alarm that was installed from the factory? I was told I would have to take the door lock out in order to fix this problem. Also my key only opens the driver door and not the entire vehicle. Anyone have any suggestions?
Please let me know where I can find the answers or give me your advice. Thank you in advance for all answers. Yes I can take it to VW but that is more costly than trying to fix it myself first.
ALL answers welcome.

It's a 1992 Transporter in white. I've looked for an identifying plate under the bonnet, inside the doors and in all the documentation, but I can't find it. Does anyone know where I'll find it? Thanks in advance.

Specifically, do VW Bugs from around 1963 to 1974 have heaters in them? If not, when did they start selling VW bugs that came with a heater?

I have just replaced the thermostat in my vehicle, and it seems to be working... for the amount of time that the thing can hold coolant. I have checked - rechecked - and completely re done the connection around the actual thermostat, and it seems secure. I have used the correct thermostat, and a rubber gasket ( o-ring as advised). Am I doing something wrong? Do I possibly need to use 2 o=rings (there was only one used by the factory when I disconnected the coolant hose from the engine)? Or did my car spring a leak somwhere else. Please help me as I am almost ready to take a sledgehammer to this peice of s$!#. Such a seemingly SIMPLE task is taking me forever. Uuugh

VW emblems on a production line at a Volkswagen plant. Volkswagen, Europe's leading automaker, signed a deal to build a 410-million-euro (539 million US) plant in western India at a site state officials said will become "the Detroit" of India.

How will this affect the lives of the people working there?
Is this not a feather in the cap for India?
Will this affect the quality of the cars?
Will they be cheaper due to lower costs?

I have a 2001 VW Jetta, manual transmission. When I am driving 25 mph or faster and press on the brake pedal the car starts to vibrate or shimmy. It appears that the problem is coming from the front of the vehicle. There is no noise or clunking present at any time while driving the car. Any clues as to what this might be??? Thanks.

How often should I I change my oil in my VW Jetta 1.8T?

The other day I was driving my 1996 VW Jetta (Manual), and it became very hard to get the car into gear. If I was moving, it seemed okay, but when I had to stop it wouldn't go into first. I tried putting it into every other gear, and it still wouldn't budge. I pumped the clutch twice, and finally after pushing extremly hard I was able to get it into first gear. The same thing happened almost everytime I stopped my car. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Will this be possible to fix myself? Is my car safe to drive to school tomorrow?
