I am planning on buying a Porsche 968 within the next few months. I'm looking to modify it with a turbo kit. I'm sure it'll be much cheaper than finding one of the 15 they only built as a turbo stock. Can anyone help me out here?

Porsche is actually an engineering firm, that went into making cars as a sideline. The concept was the company should be run by engineers not by businessmen who were doing what was necessary to increase profits to please the shareholders. As far as I know they have never tried to build a large factory that would crank out thousands of cars, that would have a price low enough to compete with the really popular cars in the market place. I Think the bodies are made by Karmann coachwork and many of the other parts are bought from Volkswagen and various other suppliers. If someone has enough money they hire Porsche to design a car for them. John DeLorean was about to hire Porsche to design his car, but they refused to do the job within the period of time in which he needed the car to be designed. Many other companies have their cars designed by porsche, but this is kept secret. The engineers who worked for volkswagen may have improved on Ferdinand Porches original design, but they failed

What are their pros and cons, if any?

Are they easy and affordable to work on as far as Porches are concerned?

Was there ever a Turbo or Supercharged version of these made from the factory?

Can you still get all the parts for these cars without too much hassle?

Are there some years that are better than others?

Is there a good website devoted to this specific Porsche?

Thank you.

I am an 18 year old who has loved Porsche 911s of all types all of my life. I particulary like the older SC's, 3.2L's, and pre 1974 cars. I have never really admired or had the desire to drive another car. I live in a lower class home and affording any Porsche will be hard for me. But I don't want to call any other car my own, except a 911. I can't stand it when I see rich guys driving their Boxters and new 996's and 997's and they don't really appreciate the heritage of their cars. What's the best place to go to find a half affordable older 911 that is still half decent?
