The air cooled porsches will be JUST FINE in extreme temperatures, as long as you are not just stopped in traffic for long periods of time.

And NO you cant just add a radiator. The block has no place for the water cooling lines to run, nor a place for a water pump.

993 turbos are just fine in places like arizona, where it gets 115* F on a regular basis.

The cars are designed for racing. They face hotter, more extreme conditions on the track than you will even in the hottest of climates driving normally.

The 993 Turbo, and ALL Porsche 911 models prior to the 996 (introduced in 1998) are air cooled, and do not use radiators. While it would be possible to swap a similar 996/997 engine to the older car, the cost would likely exceed the cost of simply purchasing a 996 or 997.

I have personally tracked air cooled 911s under extremely hot conditions (102-105 ambient, with it much hotter on track)... conditions while tracking a car mean that it is already under more heat stress than most cars will likely see in day to day use. External oil coolers have always made this a non-event in terms of heat for the engine (and I know people that have run endurance races under much hotter conditions where again, external oil coolers have kept the car running well under the "too hot" range). I have a hard time imagining that you would not be able to upgrade the cooling on an older 911 (under similar conditions, these cars run cooler than a newer 996/997 with the stockl cooling system).

But if you feel the only solution is for a water cooled car, you should only be looking at the 996 and 997 models.

Are you rich? I mean, you can have ANYTHING made... if you got the cash.
unfortunately, only the 996 was water cooled in '98
i suppose you could transplant an engine...
