I'm getting a master's degree. I've had the same job for about 3 years now. I wasn't in school when I started working here, but I am right now.

My company does not really support a work/life balance. But I need this job until I graduate.

I am thinking of doubling up on some classes to get finished in 9 months. I would only be able to work the minimum 40 hours per week.

Do you think I should take less classes so I can devote more time to work, even though it will take me twice as long to finish my program?

Or do you think I should just get school out of the way and finish within the next 9 months even though I will be barely getting by at work?

I plan on leaving the job when I'm done with school. There's nowhere else for me to go here, my degree wouldn't help at my present company.

When I was 16 I always wanted a Porsche 944, so now I am going to buy one, even though it's going to be 20 years old.

I've had over 26 different cars, but just never one of these, so was looking to see if anyone has first-hand experience owning one of these as a daily driver.

I'm expecting about $2,000 to $2,500 in maintenance/repair costs per year, is that about reasonable?

Porsche GT2 in LeMans series with "naked girl" graphics?
About 5 years ago someone eneterd a Porsche 911 GT2 into the American LeMans and/or Grand Am series with painted graphics, cartoon style, of semi nude women on the car. Does anyone remember what race team that was ? and if there are die cast models of this car anywhere ?

I just saw the spy shots of the 2008 GT2 on Car and Driver. It says that the GT2 will be lighter and more powerful than the current Turbo. The current turbo can already go 0-60 in ~3.4 sec. Can the GT2 really beat that. Also, based on the specs, the GT2 is the fastest, then 911 Turbo, and finally the GT3; why is it then that Porsche chooses to name these models the way they do? Why is it that the "GT2's" get to be the fastest out of these three models? The 2 in GT2 makes it sound like a second place car. Finally, if the upcoming GT2 is faster than the Turbo, wouldn't the Carrerra GT owners be mad, since they paid for a slower and more expensive car than any of the three models mentioned above? What's going on with Porsche now? The new 911 look just came out and there's already spyshots of a new 2009 911 look?!?

A friend recently gave the SC a right slating, saying that they were too slow and that the Turbo was the only one to go for.

Are SCs underpowered (compared to the Turbo)- are they still considered quick, especially for someone who has never driven either? Thanks!

Are there any good Porsche service centers in the Hollywood, CA area?

Could it be throttle body control? Fuel control? Will not crank no gas going to carb. Idle control? Choke on carb stays down will not stay up? Engine will turn over but will not crank.

I have been in the car business for ten years and am a manager at a new Honda dealership.

I sold my father an '88 Red Porsche 944 (not turbo, Lthr, PL, PB, stick, SR)) back in '98 for 6K. The car is in excellent condition (and I truly do mean excellent) and has only had about 2000 miles put on it since he bought it. It is inspected, and runs well. Everything works. The body looks perfect. the interior looks new. Even the rubber spoiler is still factory black (not faded).

I ran a Kelley and it is coming between 3500-4700 private party (he wants to sell it privately). It has 104K. The thing that is really throwing me off is that it was a reconstructed vehicle (but the best job I have ever seen - I would know it was an R unless I really checked the body during an appraisal.

Normally I would cut the value in half because of the R brand, but I am not sure what would happen on the private market.

How much do you think he can reasonably expect to sell it for?
