Why are you comparing the SL500, which you have to buy used, to the other two, which are new models? The SL500 is now the SL550.

If you're a real driver and not posing in front of the cafe, then get a Porsche. The Mercedes is something a corrupt politician might buy for his mistress and the Aston Martin is....well...an Aston Martin, with all the plusses and minuses that come with it....depreciating like a stone dropping off a bridge for one.....
The Porsche is a driving machine...the other cars are very very nice but boulevardiers....

theyre not really competitors.
The SL500 (for which you could get a used S65 AMG for about the same price, mind you), is a luxury convertable.
The V8 Vantage (assuming this is what you mean, not the older vantage), Is a GT car.
The Carrera is a true sports car.
the carrera will be most reliable and fastest on a track.
personally id buy a used 996 turbo, or if the budget allows (and you have the balls for it), a GT2.

Having had One of each of the cars you refer to I very much Favour the Mercedes S L 500 ---- Possibly slightly Biased due to the fact that I Have had two of the earlier S L ,s -- Ie 350 S L and 450 S L and always had totally trouble free relationship with them --- But in reality it really is down to a Personal Choice and how the Car fits into your own Psyche ......Good Luck to you ..

The Aston Martin wins hands down!! Though the Porsche upkeep isn't as expensive apparently (according to my mate who was choosing between the two).

If you are looking to spend upwards of £90-100k, why not look at something that is a little more distinctive, like a Spyker? Or something with more class, like fully restored and upgraded (read as made modern) Series 1 E-Type? Don't fall into the trap of buying cliche cars. While all three are quite good, there are so many more options out there.
But...
I don't like German cars, they don't seem to have any 'soul'.

What a nice decision to have to make!
It all depends on what you want it for.
If its an everyday car, then the Porsche wins hands down.
If its a weekend car in the UK then the Aston
If its for going to the south of France in then the Merc
They're all bloody nice cars. I would spend some time getting to know them and then make my choice.
