My favorite color would be black.

First, to correct an earlier answer, there are in fact 3 Porsche silvers depending on which years you are looking at, with Artic Silver being the most common (Artic silver has been available with the least cost among the premium silver colors since introduction).
GT Silver has only recently been offered and is the color that was introduced at the time the Carrera GT was brought out - it is a little darker than Artic Silver. Polar Silver is also found (though rarely) on some Boxsters, and I do not beleive it is a current offering (other than Color To Sample option), but it is a blue tinted silver with a little more color depth than most silvers.
As to Blue or Silver being the "best Porsche color," that would be silver. Based strictly on history, silver (or white) is the German racing color (such as red for Italian cars or green for British).
As to which looks better though, it will entirely be up to your eye. Blue Boxsters can look great, and darker colors can look better due to how they will catch the light, but they also generally take more care to keep looking their best.

Hello, my father has a 2002 Porsche 996 turbo in BLACK, this is our 6th Porsche, from 2 gold 944's to a midnight blue Carrera. To be honest the best colours are, Midnight blue, Seal grey and Basalt black. If I was in your position I would take it in the Basalt black colour because it makes all cars look stunning and sometimes even keep their value.

Silver, dark blue, and black are the best colors for Porsche, but the classic porsche color is Silver. Most Porsches are Silver.
Just like Ferarri's are red and Lamborghini's are yellow.

I like them all, but I'd get Blue. I have a Blue 911 and its great. Silver is nice and good for keeping clean, but very common.
The most important thing, in my opinion, is to get a black, or atleast dark (maybe dark blue) interior. Anything else either looks bad right away (I don't like the Porsche tan interior) or it will down the road.
I've seen other people say that Black is the only legitimate Porsche interior color.
Good Luck!!!

The yellow wasn't mentioned but it's my choice followed by white and then the blue. I know you only gave the two but I had to tell you what I thought. Go with the one you like better. It's a good car and will be good in any color you decide you like best. Look at all of the choices at the dealer's store. I happen to love the dark green with saddle leather and roof. It's a classy combo that just oozes style.
Whatever choice you make, you have to live with it.

There are two silvers:
Arctic Silver
GT Silver
There are three blues:
Lapis Blue
Midnight Blue
Cobalt Blue
The most common Boxster color is GT Silver. The best color for this car is Arctic Silver. It makes the car appear crisp, as if finished in clear-coated stainless steel. And it's among the easiest colors to maintain.

go for the Dark Blue because the Silver is jus too common and black on a Porsche Boxster is Rare and I'd choose Black over any colour because it stands out from the rest and Black is jus to Classy.
