I have never driven either of them but it would mostly depend on your style of driving and the environment you drive them in.
The Turbo is AWD which is better for traction on snow, ice, and rain. It's also heavier which makes it worse for acceleration.
The GT2 is RWD which allows you to drift on tight corners but would be more dangerous in slick conditions.
Based on were I live, I'd rather have the Turbo but I'd gladly accept either.

Some interesting replies here... but first off, since the 997 GT2 is not yet an actual production car (soon, but not quite yet), the 997 Turbo wins by default in any comparison.
But, if you want to project based on what is rumored of the new GT2, and compared to how the 996 versions stack up:
The GT2 is a better "sports car," and the Turbo is a better touring car. I've driving both of the 996 versions at track events, though have not yet driven the 997 Turbo. The difference between the older GT2 and Turbo is not night and day, it is small and sometimes subtle differences, which ultimately add up to making the GT2 a more involving (and ultimately faster) drive.
The Turbo is probably better suited for day to day use, and while the manual on this car adds to it's sporting character, it would seem the tiptronic is actually now the faster of the two transmissions, which makes me wonder if we'll see it as an option on the new GT2 (tradition says not likely, but performance suggests maybe).

The Porsche 997 GT2 jus made the second Fastest Lap on the Nurburgring in Germany the Current Record Holder is the Porsche Carrera GT.
The Porsche 997 GT2 has a Smaller Engine than Compared to the Turbo, the GT2 has a 3.6 litre TurboCharged inline 6 Engine Producing 530 bhp where as the Turbo has a 3.8 litre Turbo Charged Inline 6 Engine Producing 480 bhp.
The Porsche 997 GT2 is Rear Wheel Drive, the 997 Turbo is All Wheel Drive.
The 911 GT2 has a Standard manual 6 Speed transmission with no Flappy Paddle Option, the 911 Turbo has an option of the TipTronic Auto Matic Transmission, Flappy Paddle, and Normal 6 speed Manual Transmission.
The Porsche 911 GT2 will hit 60 in 3.6 seconds and has a Top Speed 204 mph and a 1/4 mile of 11.5 seconds (thats 0.1 seconds Slower than the McLaren F1), the 911 Turbo will hit 60 in 3.6 seconds and will do 196 mph and has a 1/4 mile 12.1 seconds.
the Porsche 911 GT2 has only 2 seats and a Roll Cage in the rear, the 911 Turbo has 4 seats.
the Porsche 911 GT2 hasTitanium Forged Exhaust System, the 911 Turbo has a Standard Steel Exhaust System.
so Over all the 911 GT2 is a BetterSports car for the Track where as the 911 Turbo is a Better Sportscar for the Road.
and I am Getting my 2008 Porsche 911 GT2 in the First Week of jan 2008 and in Black Metallic.

Drove and raced both, I would take the 997 turbo w/ AWD any day over the GT2. I prefer the handling as any car can go fast in a straight line, but not every car and give you the feeling like going fast around sharp corners stay glued to the road. Simply the 997 T is a more well rounded sports car in my opinion and a step above many of the other 911 models. Plus, you can never add the AWD option, but you can always add engine/body/suspension parts.
