the same when it comes to rattle and shake, i understand diesels all rattle but mine really sounds like an old clanking tractor,like a 1940 model, could it have another problem? the best part is the 35 MPG i love that, but some times I think its asking for new parts before it spits out the old ones, any idea about my little friend and its life span, just don't want it to die at such a young age, thanks

I've been told that some car parts on my C200, 1996 sedan has to be replaced for safety reasons. The parts in question are the drag link, a steering damper, ball joints and an idler arm bush kit. Could anybody tell me about the safety implications of these parts, and at which mileage these items are generally replaced? I'm also wondering about the safety implications of not replacing these parts.

I have taken it to dealership, but they say that since it does not happen while in service, there is nothing they can do, it suddenly dies, engine shuts off, while decelerating, then I put car in neutral and it starts again, need help.

I am orig owner of '99 mercedes e320. Replaced driverside window regulator last year. Now passengerside window off-track. Told regulator needs to be replaced. Did I miss a mercedes recall or is anyone aware of service bulletin addressing problem. I am assuming this to be a factory defect. Never had to replace window regulator on any of numerous previous brand autos owned... Thanks for any offered help. jim

I plan on buying one with 250,000 miles. I've heard they will run over 1 million miles. Looking for info,on how often to change timing chain,and how often automatic trans to be rebuilt. I'm afraid of the turbocharged models as the can cost $800. for a turbocharger.

Problem began with door locks not operating properly. Then car did not shut off properly. Car will shut off if driver's lock pin is depressed or if key is turned in lock from outside. Rear door locks still do not respond.

plastic washer has failed and allowed pass. side to come off the "knuckle",the knuckle on drier side is slightly flanged and not on bad side,should i have to replace that part as well as the arm.they tell me plastic ring can't be replaced ,arm and ring are one part.

I have a 1982 240d, and whenever I come to a stop the car shakes alot. Once I get going agin, it gets very smooth agin. I think it is because the idle adjustment is not ajusted right. How Should I ajust it? If that is not the problem, what is the problem and how should I fix it? Thanks.
