We have a small collection of old Mercedes. 1959 220S, 1971 220 and 1974 240D. The question is about the fuel for the gas models. Todays fuel is so different than what was available in 1959 and 1971. Is there anything you can do to make the fuel right for the old cars?

i'm going on a long cross country trip, and want to check every thing out( front and back) very well on my 1975 unit before the trip, problem is i don't have a sevice book on my car, if it was a chevy or other i would not worry so much about it being exact, but i realise a mercedes may be different, and in lower mexico the mercedes are not old ones like mine so it needs to be correct before i leave, on a 4200mile round trip i need good info, and i thank you for you help on this.

Im looking to buy a mercedes benz CL500, and it is a expensive car. I found some in my price range with 60k-70k miles on them. I know these cars are built really good, so i was just wondering is 65k-70k miles alot for these cars, or will this car last for like 200k-300k miles.

I am looking at a low-mileage 78 240d that supposedly had the wire loop from the glow plug come loose and stick in the exhaust valve. It seems a likely story but I have no experience with this engine. I have rebuilt an M110 inline 6 with good results, so am no stranger to Mercedes in general. Is it possible that this is as simple as it seems? Pull head, grind exhaust valve and seat, install head, add new glow plug? Or is there something else that you think might be happening that will make this a difficult repair?

black paint, all chrome is A-1, clean underside all hwy miles of 226,000 the owner says mercedes changed oil and left bolt out distroyed motor,mercedes replaced w/new one, one year later owner replaced turbo and injectors, this car is for sale but the price seams to be high i think at $4000 dollars , the body like i said is very nice black in color with only one nickle size dent on the whole car, these cars don't get good MPG do they, in total what do you think of this car????

I for one am lookin forward to the new 08' mercedes c300 n C350
they totally changed the car around, added a different engine and WAY more horse power the c300 has 231 and the 350 has 280, and this is a luxary car folks. Theyre going back to the tradinal look as the C class did from 1991 to 1999, i like it better. They also lengthed the car providing more room, and put a gps systme in it

the extierior of the car is made froma new alloy thats 70% steel, this things a brick

I wont be buying one for a couple years because buying new cars is just a waste of money, i own a 1998 mercedes C230 and LOVE mercedes.

little car as much as i can find out, as i add to my notes the information i get from nice people on this site still i wish to hear more, on this mercedes the fuel injector pump is very high pressure i know, but as this pump is very old what type of signs can i look for that would tell me the life of the pump is almost over, do they just stop working, and never fuel the motor again, or do they go out slowly, i have found 2 more complete motor and trans setswith pumps for $75.00 each,plan to buy them just for parts, but could you give me some information about that pump and what i should know about it, thank you
