The belt is still attached to the alternator, however, it looks like one of the pulley's broke off, thus causeing the loose belt. When I asked Kragen Auto Parts, they had NO idea what the problem was. HELP!

There's a car that a dealer is holding out for too much money on. They won't come down in price even though the car has been sitting there for three months. I'd like to know how to approach the dealer to get the cheapest possible price on this car.

I have a 1995 mazda 626 and the temperature gauge is freaking me out. As long as I am going at least 10 miles or more or have it in park and am reving the engine, the temperature stays where it needs to. When I have it in park or drive and am stopped the gauge quickly goes to the red as if it will overheat. What is the problem??

I already posted this question and someone gave me a link to auto zone that was of some help, but the car still won't start. If I spray starter fluid in the intake it starts long enough for the fluid to burn off and then dies. I replaced the fule filter and pump but it still won't work. When I turn the key part of the way I can hear the new fuel pump start working but when I turn it to the "start" position it seems like the pump stops. Is there some relay or something that might cause this? Does a faulty engine control unit cause a problem like this? Are there any experienced Mazda mechanics out there who can tell me what to do next? I don't have the money to pay a shop to fix it for me so I either have to fix it myself or give up on it. Thanks!

Our Mazda dealer damaged three panels on our center console of our brand new Mazda6 in May 2006, while installing a factory stereo.

Took it in 4 times, leaving it all day each time. Was told the vinyl guy was unavailable each time.

Yesterday, the 5th time, they "fixed" it.At home, I took a closer look and realized that the "repair" comprised some apparent sandpaper-like smoothing of the gouged up areas, no change whatsoever in the cracked console, and what appeared to be a new scratch on the plastic running parallel to the area that had been smoothed out.

The service manager now says "It's unfixable." They can't (won't) replace the parts because they'd have to replace the entire dashboard. He offered to try to "compensate" us for what we thought the damage had done to our car's value.

Ten weeks ago the car was brand new. Then the dealership jacked it up.

What would you do?

I have a 1994 MX-5 (Miata).

The problem is that after 5k RPM (read : as soon as I hit 5k - all the way to redline), there's something in my drivetrain that makes this whistling noise.

It's not air/exhuast/fumes of any type escaping from anything - it's like something metal spinning around the driveshaft and after it gets into the power band (after 5k PRM) it just spins a little loose and makes that whistling noise...

When I let off the gas (engine brake - coast) in 2nd and 3rd gear, it makes this rasping noise at 3k RPM. It sounds like a small, broken high speed fan blades scraping on sandpaper for a second... kinda sorta sounds like a card-board made wastegate... something is definately not right down there. Sounds cool though.

sometimes when i gear down (stick shifter) to gain speed, the air vents on the dash push air into the passenger compartment that is misty-like, (i have to admit sometimes it seems pretty cool) but i was wondering if there may be a problem with my condenser. i had previously posted about water leaking under the floor to the co-driver & seat behind it.
The misty air does not smell like smoke or foul in any manner.
and, the only sensible connection i can make btn the transmission and the air is the increased air intake due to an increase in speed.
Is this a concern (the misty air)...and any advice about the water leak would be appreciated. Thanks
