Is the compartment big enough 2 store MP3 and cellphones????

yes...I have all kinds of crap in mind but contrary to what the other guy said , stuff does not "clunk around in there....

If you're referring to the hinged compartment on the dash top, above the center stack, then yes--it will fit an iPod or cell phone just fine.

Unfortunately, given the hollow plastic construction of most any new car's dashboard, you'll hear anything you put in there clunking from side to side whenever you brake, accelerate, or turn.

Be aware, though, that you won't get this compartment if you order the optional navigation system. So equipped, the nav system folds out of that space, leaving no room for storage.

It's more commonly called a map pocket on 6club. You should check that site out btw, www.mazda6club.com, lots and lots of info. Yes, thats where the Navigation system goes on the GT models.

It's probably where an optional Mazda multi-CD player would go, if you had purchased that option.
