It's a 1999 Chevy Camaro 3.8l. Right now it has just stock exhaust on it and i need to put some aftermarket exhaust on it. I guess some custom stuff or just whatever can run me under $300.

I posted a question earlier. let me state it is not the tranny, torque converter or plate, all these have been repaired or changed. It is a sound sort of like a fan blade hitting a metal shroud with a sort of squeak. it is loud on acceleration and will make the sound randomly in idle. the other day I was in reverse backing out of a drive, when I braked I heard the sound really well. It will always sound when driving (when torqued), randomly when idling. When in reverse and braking hard it really acts up. this has stumped several mechanics along with myself. We own a automotive parts business so we sort of know what we are doing. any help greatly appreciated, thanks everyone.....

I have a noise that sounds like a fan hitting a metal shroud coming from my truck. I recently changed the tranny so all of those options or gone. It occurs when driving, and sometimes when idling. It seems to increase with torque. Yesterday I was backing up with some speed and noticed when I braked the sound was quite pronounced. I went and did this several times with the noise being there each time, especially when braking. This has stumped several mechanics who felt it was in the transmission. The noise sounds like a metallic clang, when driving at highway speeds I can hear it, it is more pronounced when accelerating. I can also hear the noise in idle although it is random. Any help appreciated, thanks.....

I have an 1980 Pontiac trans am, powered by a 400 small block chevy.. Its got some problems, first of all. I have it idling in park at around 13-1500 rpms, only because when i shift it into drive, the idling drops right down to almost stalling idle at 5-600 rpms.. Its lacking in power and sometimes when I acclerate, it will backfire and hestitate.. Im guessing its a timing issue, it has a mallory twin point distributor jobbie on it, does that require a different method of timing or just the same?? because it has no vaccum advance?? No i dont much about them, but i know the local speed shop is trying to rip me when they say it needs a recondtion!!! the whole bottom end is sweet and it blows no smoke.. I really like this car and dont wanna wreck it!!!

I've tried pushing the interior light button 4 times quickly, I've tried turing the light switch dial back, but nothing seems to work. They are driving me nuts.
