Oh boy. Anything you do to mod. the car with a 2.8 in is going to be very marginal at best. The only way to get a noticible difference is rip the motor and tranny out and throw in a V-8. And that's not cheap. You could throw a NO2 kit on it and spray like crazy, but I don't think the engine could with stand much of it. Turbo's and superchargers are on the hi end. The only way to make HP and TQ is mixing huge quantities of fuel and air.

Aaron:
If you are after performance beyond what you already have I have bad news. Horsepower is expensive and there is no replacement for displacement. An engine swap is the only real way to get a significant gain in power. Like some of the others have said, NO2, turbos and supercharging are all answers but the 2.8 won't take much of that before you scatter it all over the road.
I would suggest you start haunting places that offer items from parted out cars. If you can find a low mileage V8 with a stick bolted up to it for a reasonable price that would probably be your best bet. Don't forget the electronics and the suspension, heavy motor requires heavy springs.
If you just want to doll it up a bit, that is all a matter of taste and wallet thickness. Nicer seats, carpets, instruments, different shifter, console, sound system, wheels, tires, vanity license plates, paint, air dams, whale tail, and the list goes on and on. If this is what you are after get a catalog or two. IMO J.C. Whitney is a fairly good place to start.
Good luck and go get 'em.

Where to start.. if it's an automatic, I'd just either do a motor swap or find another camaro with either a 2.8/manual or the small block.. to begin with, those cars only had around 130hp with 160ft lbs torque.. The Mods for this particular engine are already so limited, I'd have to say.. if your liking the gas mileage you get then just keep on driving it, keep it stock, maybe an exhaust, but you wouln't notice much from it.. Ehh.. hate telling people that their camaro's aren't worth keeping . . . :(

Buy a donor car with a V8 . 1982 - 1992 . I have bought 8 locally from ebay for $200 - $500. Pull that motor and rebuild it , all of the swap parts you need will be there . You can still drive the one you have as you save money for the parts you really want.
