I have narrowed it down to four. Let's consider that each would be a 2004 model year. Please state reasons for your answers. Thanks!

1.) Lexus IS300
2.) Nissan 350z
3.) Mazda RX-8
4.) Infiniti G35 Coupe (although I may not be able to afford this one)

When buying a new car, should you tell the dealer about a car trade-in before or after you negotiate the new car price?

What legal implications are involved in this? I worry about things like 1) The "buyer" stealing the car 2) They or the mechanic ruining the car by not putting it back together right after inspection 3) Having them possibly get into an accident driving to or from said mechanic 4) The buyer using it to run errands and adding ridiculous mileage to my car and then deciding not to purchase. Even though I can certainly understand the reasoning behind the buyer wanting to have the car inspected by a professional, it seems like it might be more potential liability than it it worth. Is there anything I can do to protect myself from these potential pitfalls while still offering the buyer some sort of re-assurance about what they are purchasing?

I had every intention to complete the agreement to sell my car but it didn't pass smog and the buyer is harassing me saying I have to pay for the repairs and still sell him the car at the agreed price. I have been told the agreement is void since it would not pass smog but he is continually harassing me and threatening to sue me. Does anyone know whether or not I have to do as he is threatening?

I am being charged through the nose for the co2 emmisions through the current road tax anyway. i could see the point if by paying for the offset the road tax would reduce accordingly but this seems to be another way to penalise 4x4 drivers. what do you think?

I've only got about $5,000 at most to spend and i've been looking at different cars. I definitely want a v8 sedan, coupe, conv. etc. i dont want a truck, large sedan(ex. crown vic), or suv because the mpg is horrible. I have been looking at the following: ford taurus sho(maybe even the v6, its much quicker), mustang gt, cadillac eldorado, camaro z28. I wanted to know of any other suggestions or even experiences with these cars.

On the DMV website, I just found the "Bill of Sale" form. He is going to sign that, and I'm wondering if I have to show that to the DMV FIRST or can I just take THAT form and show it to the Police Department with his signature and they'll let me take out the car that now belongs to me? I'm asking this because it's Sunday and DMV's aren't open, and Monday is a holiday!!! Thanks in advance, I really need some opinions/answers.

Can someone sue you for more than he paid for his car..No insurance is involved. My brother was in an accident and was willing to pay the total amount the person bought the car for..$800.00 which was a deal. The car is worth approx. $2500.00, according to Kelly Blue Book. Again, can a person sue for more than they paid for the vehicle??

My husband's work pays through a credit union which is a direct deposit. He and his dad took out a loan through his credit union for a truck and totalled out the truck and didn't have insurance. Now his credit union is wanting the remaining balance on his loan in full because it is now an unsecured loan. The credit union is also holding his entire check so we don't have any money. His mother thinks that they can go to the same credit union and take out another loan for the amount that he owes or go to his dad's credit union to try to take out a loan for that amount. The problem is that his dad co-signed and the reason that he got the loan through his credit union is because his dads credit union wouldn't aprove it. So would his dad's credit union give them the loan to pay off the remaining balance since the loan isn't with them?? I don't understand how that would be possible.... please help.

A 97' 328i. Would the parts/maintenance be within reason? (not over $2k a year) Would insurance be cheep because its more of a sedan than a sports car?

And I also want to make sure nothing would fall apart on the thing...thats why I want a BMW, and not some Ford or Honda that will crap out on me in 3 years.
