Buy what you truly can afford. Ask yourself I'm I buying this car cause I plan to keep it for awhile or do I plan to trade it in, in couple of years? You want to buy a car (other then the fact you look good in it) that holds it value if you plan to trade it in, and you can afford payments. Good Luck they say that 9 times out 10 you end up buying something totally different.

Well BMW's of late are pretty poorly put together making them unreliable, and the 1 class is grotesquely overpriced for what it is so I'd rule that out immediately. I don't know much about the Citroen, they're generally reliable and fun to drive so it's not a bad choice, but given the option myself I'd go a little older and get something like a Nissan 300Twin Turbo/350Z or a Toyota Supra Twin Turbo. These all will make mincemeat out of both cars and look so much better.

The BMW will hold value for longer but are more pricey to begin with, why not use the comparison tool on the What Car website.

Why don't you save youself a packet of money and get your self a proper M3 a 99 or 00 reg......and there's no way they will depreciate as fast as your new car.....

the year of an M3 does not matter....to own anyone of them is a privilage.....116im seem like a bad joke to any proper petrol head.... loads of savage second hand cars on pistonheads....did you ever consider a TVR : )
